Stretch and Seal tape to hold things together

Forgive me if this hack is old news in the MP community.

I am putting up cat netting on my balcony. Rather drill a lot of holes, I’m building a frame out of 3/4” pipe to attach the netting.

Holding 3 pieces of pipe and a 90 degree structural pipe connector together while trying to tighten the bolts was quite a challenge, especially in a tight space. (One of the photos shows the connector and pipes I installed behind an air conditioning unit.)

I discovered Nashua Stretch and Seal tape allows me to screw in the bolts and nuts just enough to keep them from falling apart, while the tape holds everything together while assembling everything.

The stretchiness of the tape allows me to manipulate the connector while getting the pipes in. It also allows me to slide the connector easily up and down the pipe while getting everything into place.

In my case it even allows me to attach the netting before raising the top pipe into position.

There are cheaper brands of tape than Nashua, but it was all I could find at Home Depot.

Trellis

Made a trellis for my bougainvillea vine, (and to break up the line of sight to the ugly building my neighbors put up). Two of us worked off of a drawn out design plan. It was built on the ground and then we slid the main pipe over 10 foot rebar that was hammered into the ground 5 feet. I would have attached it to the fence if the fence belonged to me, instead I attached a 3 foot support in back and a 2 foot support in front, angled to the ground. We will see how it holds up to wind, might need to rethink support. Overall height is 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Total build took 3 hours with quite a few breaks to get out of the 90 degree Florida heat.

I have an idea I'm trying to build called the Junk Box, which is a simple 6 x 4 x 4 box.

Any ideas on what materials I need? I'm thinking the 3/4 in piping is best.
