2 quick map questions
2 quick map questions
  1. Is there a way to copy assets on one map and paste them onto another, specifically as another template in the same map? Let's say I have two versions of a map that are of the same place but different styles and I want them to be in the same asset?

I know that I could potentially duplicate a map and then swap out the underlying map, but this duplicated map will be it's own separate asset, but I'd like to keep them together.

2. How can I take a map I've already make and make it the map of a location article? It seems to me like you should just be able to drag the map from the list onto the map tab of said article, but that doesn't seem to be working.

OK, that's the questions I have right off as I get into migrating from WA to Legend Keeper, I'm sure I'll have dozens more.

EDIT: When I say map here, I mean a map page that I've already added icons, polygons, and other fiddly doo-dads, not to a base map image file.

Offline Mode / Download Updates?
Offline Mode / Download Updates?

I use LK for EVERYTHING. One big project that holds literally everything in my life. In this project I have my enormous world building projects listed under my "creative writing" category, located under my personal "hobbies" category, that also contains information about my "Birding" and "Fishing" Hobbies. None of that counts my personal journals, projects, goals or my business plans and SOP's. last I checked, there were over 4,000 items in this one library. And I love it.

I know the phone "app" side of things has been a sticky point, but I'd love to be able to download (at least parts) of my "project" to always be stored on my phone. These hobbies often drive me outside of cell phone range and I lose access to all of my beautiful data.

Thanks for considering LK team!

Help in Moving from WorldAnvil
Help in Moving from WorldAnvil

I recently heard about LegendKeeper again after about a year from quitting it according to my previous project on it. I have been primarily using WorldAnvil for the past several years and have about 3 million or so words written split amongst some 4k odd articles. Recently, though, I decided to start running Fallout 2d20 and made a new world for it to keep it organized. I figured I would give LegendKeeper a try since a lot of what I've read has said its easier to organize which is definitely a problem I've run into on WA, on top of the new editor there causing horrible lag on my lower end computer with upwards of 30 seconds to open any article each time, and taking away a lot of middle click/open in new tab possibility without having to click through multiple screens. There are a few problems I have run into though that I am unsure of how to fix without disrupting workflow or making it less organized. I appreciate any help.

  1. I cannot find a way to change link text to articles without having to right click each link then move to change link text that way. I have seen something about using /page, but I couldn't seem to get that to work and it just kept making new tabs instead of linking properly, still with the wrong link text (such as Origins instead of properly linking as Origin while linking to the Origins page). I am just looking for a quick way to do it, preferably that can be done with keyboard alone.

  2. I use the Statblocks option on WA to create equipment packs to be slotted into any number of articles for the Origins in Fallout2d20. I am struggling to find a way to do that without having a mess of articles just for statblocks, and even beyond that I am unsure how I would inject them into other articles. Ideally if I do have to do it as separate articles, I could make those articles separate and just inject the text into the articles it should appear in.

  3. I haven't tried this yet as I didn't get far due to the text editor, but just for future reference, is there a way to replace a map image whilst keeping all pins on it? I do this relatively often on WA as I update the image to match current events and to save me from having to make the full world map off the bat.

  4. I did find Tag Directories which do help a lot already with sorting and they are much simpler to use than on WA which is an upside, but is there a way to list a category TOC as well? For example, while the Origins are all tagged as either Humanoid, Mutant, or Robotic, I was wondering if there was a way to make a TOC that just lists all articles under Origins in one list. Ideally this would be the only place they would appear like that, keeping them hidden from any overall TOC if such a thing exists (I haven't seen the player-facing side yet, only the editor).

  5. If you have any other tips or tricks for using the system, I'd love to hear them as well, especially for where/how to edit the CSS of the player-facing wiki or anything to speed up workflow, particularly if it doesn't require a mouse to do so.

  6. EDIT: Another thing I thought of, is there a way to have campaigns separate from the worlds on here as well? Just to keep things nicely sorted.
