Last night I went and implemented font variation support in mplcairo, using all the builtin capabilities of Cairo and FreeType: github.com/matplotlib/mpl… This example replicates the pattern from the recently announced Mona Sans/Hubot Sans site from @github

While I don't love how it works, managed to get the Transparency plugin working again in @impidgin 3 against @GTKtoolkit 4.

With lots and lots of `# if 0`, I have a compiling-and-running @impidgin on GTK 4. Much is broken though (like several menus). Let's see if we can get this committed in @rw_grim's stream tomorrow.
