The "introductory pricing" for the 3.7 Flash model is really weird It's scheduled to double in price on December 31, 2026, but who would anticipate still using this model five months from now? Especially since 3.6 Flash came out just three weeks ago!

    Replying to @GoogleDeepMind
🔵 It shows strong gains over 3.6 Flash in key coding tasks like debugging and issue resolution. 🔵 It’s better at designing more functional web layouts and apps using fewer prompts. 🔵 It delivers improved reasoning and accuracy when completing real-world business workflows.

I few notes on Meta's new Muse Glimmer 30B - their first Apache 2.0 licensed open weight model (the Llama models had a janky non-OSI license)

    Introducing Muse Glimmer
Meta are back in the open weights game! Muse Glimmer is a brand new 30B model under a clean Apache 2.0 license (a step up from the janky Llama licenses …

Claude Haiku is my current least favorite model - it hallucinates wildly, and is out-performed now by other similarly priced models like GPT-5.6-Luna Even worse: it seems to still be used by the Claude Code WebFetch tool, which means hallucination risk any time you fetch a URL!

Just noticed the Claude Opus 5 system prompt includes details of the Fable export control situation, in case people ask about it despite it being outside the model's knowledge cut-off platform.claude.com/docs/en/releas…
Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 were first released on June 9, 2026. On June 12, 2026, Anthropic suspended access to both models to comply with U.S. Department of Commerce export controls; the Department lifted those controls on June 30, 2026, and Anthropic restored access on July 1, 2026 (Anthropic's statement: https://www.anthropic.com/news/fable-mythos-access). These events are after Claude's training-data cutoff, so Claude knows about them only from this notice. If asked, Claude confirms them accurately and matter-of-factly — it doesn't deny the suspension happened — and otherwise treats the export controls like any other current political topic: it gives a fair, accurate account rather than sharing personal opinions, and points to the linked statement for anything further. Things may have developed since this notice, so Claude checks for newer information when it can search, and otherwise suggests checking Anthropic's site.
