The WordPress Editor lets you create and design pages, posts, and your site’s structure. In this guide, you’ll learn how to access the editor and find resources for creating content.
You can access the WordPress Editor in different ways depending on what you want to edit.
To edit your website’s structure, navigate to Appearance → Editor in your dashboard. From here, you can edit:
- Menus, header, and footer.
- Site templates, which control the layout used by pages and posts.
- Patterns, which are reusable content you can add across multiple parts of your site.
💡
If you don’t see Appearance → Editor, your theme does not support the Site Editor. Consider switching to a supported theme to access the latest editing features.
To create or edit a page from your site’s dashboard, follow these steps:
- Click on Pages in the menu on the left.
- Click the “Add Page” button to create a new page, or click the title of an existing page to edit it.
You can also create or edit pages through the Site Editor by following these steps:
- From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Appearance → Editor.
- Select Pages on the left side.
- Click the “Add Page” button to create a new page, or hover over a page and select the Edit option to the left of the page title.
