Inspiration
Finding parking and understanding city crowd patterns is a daily challenge. We wanted to make urban navigation smarter and less stressful.
What it does
DenCity shows real-time parking availability and crowd density on an interactive city map, helping users make informed decisions on the go.
How we built it
We used React for the frontend, Node.js/Express for the backend, and Supabase for real-time data storage. RF sensors and sample data power the live map.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating real-time data, merging multiple data sources, and ensuring smooth frontend-backend communication were our biggest hurdles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully visualized live parking and density data, migrated from MongoDB to Supabase, and created a seamless, user-friendly map experience.
What we learned
We deepened our skills in full-stack development, real-time data handling, and collaborative problem-solving across multiple technologies.
What's next for DenCity
We plan to add predictive analytics, more sensor integrations, user notifications, and expand to more cities for greater impact.
