Out now: Super Castel by Max Esnée Following our two releases late last year, we’re opening 2026 with Super Castel. Designed by Max Esnée, the project marks his second collaboration with Production Type after Gamuth, and his fourth typeface overall. Originally developed as a custom typeface for a small music label, the project grew into a full display family with a clear premise: taking familiar Baroque forms and pushing them to typographical extremes. As Max notes, he set out to “stay as close as possible to the sources, and go as far as possible in terms of compression and weights.” As the first release of the year, Super Castel marks a new step in our collaboration with Max. Production Type announces the appointment of Marion Sendral as Managing Director. Marion Sendral joined the typographic design agency as an intern eight years ago and has steadily climbed the ranks to become the company’s Managing Director. Her career path illustrates the practice of knowledge transmission and internal promotion at the independent type foundry founded by Jean-Baptiste Levée. Trained in digital typeface design, Marion Sendral has established herself over the years as a pillar of the company. She has managed the production of numerous major client projects for brands such as Bosch, LVMH, and Arsenal, and recently led the redesign of offerings for partner communications agencies. In her new role, she will be responsible for steering the agency's operational strategy and growth, structuring internal and external resources, and supporting the international distribution of Production Type fonts. Jean-Baptiste Levée, President of Production Type, says: “Marion embodies the foundry’s culture of rigor and performance. She knows how to translate an idea into a process, and a process into a result. Her intimate knowledge of the business, combined with a pragmatic vision of the organization, make her the best person to support our growth.” This appointment comes alongside new accounts for L’Oréal, Canal+, and Decathlon, confirming the foundry’s growth, with its typeface designs used internationally by major brands.
