I’m a second year PhD Student at UC San Diego interested in generative modeling. I find inspiration for new ideas in simplicity and human perception, and I would like to understand the fundamental reason why our generative modeling paradigms work and how they can improve.
I’m currently advised by Profs. Rose Yu and Taylor Berg-Kirkpatrick at UCSD. I am also actively collaborating with Prof. Yilun Du, and spent my 2025 Summer as a visiting student at Harvard jointly advised by Yilun and Andy Keller. Previously I was advised by Prof. Zhiting Hu at UCSD, I worked with Prof. Bruno Olshausen at UC Berkeley’s Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience, with Prof. Kurt Keutzer at BAIR, and as a founding research scientist at New Theory AI. I received my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at UC Berkeley. In a past life, I was the co-founder and CTO of a financial technology startup.
Apart from research, I like to try new recipes, go on long runs, and read books. Check out my Reading log and Misc obsessions!
