About me
I received my Ph.D. degree and my B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2026 and 2022, respectively, where my research was supervised by Professor Yangqiu Song and generously supported by the HKPFS award. I was also a visiting Ph.D. scholar at Johns Hopkins University, where I was supervised by Prof. Daniel Khashabi. Previously, I was twice an Applied Scientist intern at Amazon in Palo Alto, working with the Stores Foundational AI team and the Customer Search Experience team, mentored by Dr. Xin Liu, Dr. Qingyu Yin, Dr. Limeng Cui, and Dr. Chen Luo.

Research Interest
I’m mainly interested in research on large language models. Currently, I’m working on:
- GUI/CLI Agents and Tool-Use: Applying RL-based post-training to agents that perceive, plan, and act in real interfaces, with an emphasis on long-horizon decision-making, interactive feedback and reward design, and reliable agentic behavior.
- RL-Empowered Reasoning in LLMs: Developing efficient and scalable reinforcement learning methods that improve LLM reasoning performance (HeaPA). I am also interested in enabling generalizable System II reasoning in novel situations.
During my PhD, I focused on exploring conceptualization (🐈, 🚗, 🕯️) and metaphysical reasoning (🪐), with an emphasis on robustness and reliable reasoning beyond pattern matching. I also actively worked on human behavior understanding and intention modeling with large foundation models in E-commerce (FolkScope, IntentionQA, MIND, 📜) and social media (MIKO), as well as scientific knowledge exploration via large language models, studying their role in organizing, summarizing, and discovering scientific knowledge (arXiv2Table, Science Hierarchography, ClaimCheck).
