WELCOME TO BEHAVIOROLOGY

  • The natural science of human nature and human behavior
  • A natural science of why human behavior happens
  • A natural science that helps build a sustainable society in a timely manner

This is the current Web site of TIBI (The International Behaviorology Institute). You can find out more about us under ABOUT US under HOME.

VISITOR INTEREST NOTE ABOUT VIDEO CLIPS

This website features nearly two dozen short video clips (like the one below). They appear at appropriate points across its pages. Watch for them, and watch them. They are parts of a two hour long recording of a video interview of one of TIBI’s Board members that a camera crew from the ProSocial Progress Foundation, in the United Kingdom, made some time back. The interview was recorded straight through, because the recording was meant to supply a range of topic clips for different sections in a documentary. (While these video clips offer an occasional alternative to reading, the content of the whole video is also accessible as a slightly different peer–reviewed journal ARTICLE (in the Spring 2014 issue of Journal of Behaviorology volume 17, number 1, pages 3–12). Also, the whole recording is available as a single two–hour video—described on the MEDIA page—although the interviewee insists that viewers be warned that, “While aurally interesting, straight–through viewing of this interview is a visually boring experience, because the camera never varies from showing only the interviewee.” For that reason, many viewers seem to better appreciate watching the clips than watching the whole video straight through. Are you one of them?

TIBI ETHICS AND PRACTICE GUIDELINES

The International Behaviorology Institute (TIBI) is a non–profit professional organization for basic and applied natural science of behavior researchers and educators as well as practitioners, many of whom practice Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As such, TIBI acknowledges and supports the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) “Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts“. TIBI also supports the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA) policy on responding to ethical questions and concerns. NOTE that, to refer to the natural science of behavior that informs ABA, the BACB uses a term, “behavior analysis,” that was in use before the need arose for a name that clearly indicates—the way the term “behaviorology” does—that this science and its applications are neither a part of, nor any kind of, psychology.
