MEHS is committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and equitable environment for all students and will continue to review and strengthen its practices to meet that commitment.
Title IX is a U.S. federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding. It’s a cornerstone of gender equity policy in education and has evolved significantly since its enactment. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
MEHS is currently updating its Title IX compliance policy and procedure.
