Welcome to MEHS

The choice to join Mt. Edgecumbe High School is to join a family for a lifetime.  Teachers and residential staff get to know students well and support them in their growth.  Students are challenged in the classroom and beyond through a wide variety of new experiences offered through the academic and residential programs.  Our students are from every corner of the state, and our staff values the family heritage and cultural experiences each student brings to MEHS.  Mt. Edgecumbe is an excellent choice for students who seek to be challenged, enjoy trying new experiences, and desire to live with and learn from others.  Mt. Edgecumbe students become part of an extended family network, including parents and alums all over the state.  Many past Mt. Edgecumbe High School students describe their time at MEHS as life-changing.

TITLE IX
MEHS is committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and equitable environment for all students and will continue to review and strengthen its practices to meet that commitment.

Title IX is a U.S. federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding. It’s a cornerstone of gender equity policy in education and has evolved significantly since its enactment. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

MEHS is currently updating its Title IX compliance policy and procedure.

If you believe that you or someone you know has experienced sex-based discrimination, harassment, or a violation of Title IX, please contact the school’s Title IX Coordinator:
