Keyboard seems OK. Enclosed instructions were very poor, almost unintelligible and I had to look up directions online on how to turn on backlight. Finally deciphered how to turn on the backlight and set brightness. Worst thing is that the enclosed cable is really hard to get in and out (and they require you to unplug it every time you change the settings) and on the final change, when I had just got it the way I wanted, the cable broke completely when I pulled it out (see photo). Unbelievably shoddy design for such an expensive keyboard. Luckily I have a spare cable which seems to work. Very disappointed.

When I wanted a good mechanical keyboard, I did a lot of research. I wanted to have a full keyboard as I use the number pad a lot. Coworkers that had used other WASD keyboards suggested the Code keyboard. I'm so glad they did.

Upon first glance it's sleek and modern, but isn't flashy. I love that it appears to be unbranded on the top of the casing. I wanted a removable USB cable but many top brands do that these days. It comes with any type of Cherry switch you want; I chose brown for clicky but no too clicky.

I wish the LEDs were RGB to match my mouse, but I'm okay with just white. The light is even across all keys with no spots being brighter or dimmer than the rest. The casing is plastic, but it has a solid and substantial feel to it. It's not going to move unless you move it, and I type pretty forcefully most of the time.

Another great thing about the keyboard is it doesn't require its own software. You set the LEDs to where you want them using function keys, and they stay there no matter what you connect the keyboard to. And with removable key caps and the DIP switches underneath, it can easily be used on any platform.

Are there better keyboards for the money? I'm sure there are. To me the aesthetics played a big part. I think to get the same look and feel I'd be into a customer keyboard for even more. I love the keyboard so much I bought a second one for work. I can't say if this is the right keyboard for you, but for now at least it's the right one for me.

If you are someone who wants an extremely solid and versatile keyboard without a lot of the flashy logos or RGB, this is the one. The frame is extremely solid (reminds me of old typewriters), not metal but just as rigid in practice. The finish is a pleasantly textured eggshell-like black on the body and a nice flat black on the keys. Cable channel is a little tight, but not unreasonably so. Easily bright enough to see in any lighting conditions, understated but very clean. I also appreciate the absence of branding and OS key symbols. Keys have great travel and the right amount of sound and movement for the switches, as expected.

Beyond that typical stuff, where this keyboard really shines is the Macro capability. Why use macros? Well, besides the obvious gaming or coding functions, they enable a ton of useful keys that aren't normally accessible on windows via ALT codes. I use the RWin key together with letters and numbers to press keys like • ° Ø Ω ² ≤ ≥ ◄ ► and my favorite (takes extra registry changes) ‽. Macros are easy to add and remove once you get used to the method (manual comes in the box and is very clear). Absolutely the keyboard I was looking for after multiple RGB abominations with giant macro panels off the sides. 5/5.

Wow I've only had this for a few hours and I'm already in love with it. Always wanted to try a mechanical keyboard and I'm so glad I picked this one. The build quality is superb. Design is awesome. It looks great, it's sturdy, and the backlighting - with 7 brightness levels - is just right.

Most importantly of course the keys themselves are a dream. I went for the MX Brown switches which for me are the perfect amount of clickiness without being too loud. I not only love this keyboard, but as a programmer who has been typing for over thirty years I wish to express my sincere GRATITUDE to the designers of this gem.

I love that it's not too huge, and that it has no ugly branding or unneeded flash keys, etc. Anyone could take this into an office and look professional, as opposed to a videogame-obsessed kid. It's pricey, yes, and ABSOLUTELY worth it, every cent. Thank you team WASD for crafting this with such care - it really shows. It will improve my daily life immeasurably going forward. If I get a second computer I will not hesitate to buy another one of these. Highly recommended!

Overall, it's a great keyboard, but beware that the USB connection may NOT WORK AT ALL.

I've purchased both the V2 and V3 versions. The switches, lights, mapping, and context switching between Mac and PC setups is great. I've used my current V2 for years as a daily driver.

There is one major problem, though: BOTH the V2 and V3 keyboards I bought had USB connector issues.

I returned the V3 without a replacement this time because of the connector (the one I got seemed to be an Amazon return already). The V2 I originally bought went out to WASD to fix the connector and has been solid since 2017.

Please, WASD, fix the USB connector.
