Only "con" is the excuse of HDR because as we all know the HDR400 mode doesnt require local dimming so the performance is laughable in most games, but overall i would rate this monitor a 4.9/5 only reason it isnt a 5/5 is because with the stand i am now required to get another desk. Also it is worth noting that out of the box it is tuned for srgb and i would highly recommend changing it to dcip3 in the osd much better color reproduction. Update 10/1/2021: Everything still works fine but i'm stuck with nVidia gpus ): i was going to upgrade to a 6800xt but it seems this monitor does not support it *sigh* proprietary solutions like this are very anti-consumer

      had it for nearly 2 years and a half, just suddenly stopped working. Nearly a grand on a monitor that's so fragile it broke while stationary while the other dual monitor i had for 11 years had no issues. Feel like a waste of money

      Great monitor so far. High refresh rate and sharp image. The HDR feature looks beautiful but I have no frame of reference from other monitors but after I upgraded from my previous acer x341ck, this is image looks sharp. I looked at reviews on youtube but you cant really see it unless its physically.

      The 1900R curve really works, while playing games kinda like a putting a headset, really envelopes the sight.

      The monitor is very light, much lighter than my previous one. This one has a ton of customizable features and presets.

      The only complaint I have is that its kind of dull, no colors or leds, my previous acer had customizable color leds that I would use for a dark room setting, working kind of like a lamp, but that is minor. I guess the other thing is that there is an exhaust fan right where I connected the monitor arm, not sure what was the design purpose of that.

      My Acer Predator X34 S works great with the 180 Hz mode and Gsync enabled. Really great response for an ultrawide. IPS screen. Like most IPS screens, the fastest overdrive setting is too much and causes noticeable overshoot, so it will not be able to achieve the advertised response rate at the 'normal' overdrive setting. This is an industry-wide issue with IPS screens, not specific to this model.

      Honest complaints:

      My unit backlight bleed in both top corners. Only noticeable on all-black scenes, forgivable in my opinion, depends on how sensitive you may be to that.

      I ended up replacing the included DP cable with a certified DP 1.4 cable, because I was experiencing a flickering issue with Gsync enabled. However, that issue may have been cleared up by a newer graphics card driver, so your mileage may vary.

      The on-screen display crosshair mode is not perfectly centered in the middle of the screen... it is like 2 pixels off to the right from dead-center. Tested in multiple games and compared to my previous LG screen's crosshair mode. This is a silly mistake.

      The monitor is very expensive for what it is. There are competitive 144 hz screens now in the $500 price range with similar quality panels. The Predator X34 S does offer the 'ultimate' version of modern fast 3440x1440 IPS panels with the factory OC'd 180 Hz mode, but whether that is worth the difference in price is up to the buyer.

      I have a LG 34GP83A-B that I use for home office and Dell U3419w at the office but this Acer is a completely different experience. It has a great sounds quality, very sharp display with excellent color and no lags in games. The controls are easy to reach and adjust and its just feels lot more modern and sophisticated system compared to others I had tested. For this price, it is a bargain and the best monitor for 2021.

      Screen is great but there is an issue with VESA mounting on a monitor arm. In the middle of the VESA mounting “port” is a fan vent for cooling the g-sync module. If you mount this monitor on a VESA mounting plate it will completely cover the g-sync fan exhaust. In the manual there is a vented adapter bracket that would solve the issue but it is not included with the monitor and I have been unable to find it for sale separately anywhere. Not sure why it wasn’t included with the monitor but I would not recommend this monitor if you plan to VESA mount. Otherwise it is great.
