Common Questions

Why is Algebra So Important?

Algebra intimately connects our understanding of arithmetic and enables us to study and solve for unknown quantities. Using symbols, variables, expressions, equations and graphs we can solve problems dealing with unknown values. More importantly, Algebra is the cornerstone of all future math courses such as geometry, trigonometry, calculus and beyond.

What is the difference between Algebra 1 & 2?

Algebra 1 give students the framework for all future math studies. Students will become acquainted with variables, equations, and solving techniques, and a common theme of simplifying or rewriting expressions. Algebra 1 is the prerequisite course for Algebra 2, as it builds and expands upon a students understanding of equations and functions by exploring more advanced techniques or complex topics.
