What if you could measure cutting forces directly in your machining process and use that data to make better decisions? Our new 9171B Wireless RCD takes cutting force measurement to the next level. It replaces the 9171A tool holder. The 9171B measures cutting forces in three axes as well as the main torque directly in the process at speeds of up to 12,000 rpm. Thanks to its wireless design and extended measuring ranges, it is especially suited for demanding and heavy-duty machining applications. Combined with the LabAmp WL receiver and the PTS App, it becomes a complete solution for real-time data visualization and detailed analysis. The result is simple: you get a clearer understanding of your materials, tools and processes and can make more informed decisions based on precise measurement data. Nearly 20 years ago, the Kistler Group awarded its first scholarships to engineering students in China. Some of those students are now shaping the industries we work with every day. This year, Marc Schaad, CEO of the Kistler Group, visited Wuhan University of Technology and Professor Zhang to continue that tradition – presenting the Kistler Scholarship and exploring new opportunities for university-industry collaboration. The visit included an exchange on sensing technologies and closed-loop control strategies for marine engines, the Kistler Scholarship Award Ceremony, and a tour of the university's research laboratories: from methanol dual-fuel engines to spray combustion and catalyst preparation. Originally focused on automotive powertrain research with Beijing Institute of Technology and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the scholarship program expanded into the maritime sector in 2024. Throughout, the focus has remained the same: supporting students in the fields of energy, power and green transformation. As the Kistler Group marks 30 years in the China market, this visit is a reminder that a company's growth is tied to the markets and people it serves. Supporting students today is an investment in the industries of tomorrow. #KistlerGroup #KistlerChina #UniversityIndustryCollaboration #STEMEducation

At Kistler, we’re proud that our sensor technology contributes to making human spaceflight safer; by turning millisecond phenomena into actionable insight.
What does the "water hammer effect" have to do with sending humans back to the moon? A lot! In the development of the #Orion spacecraft for Artemis II, a critical phenomena engineers had to master is the water hammer effect - a rapid pressure surge that occurs when valves in the propellant system open or close. These spikes happen in just milliseconds, but their impact can be mission-critical: if not controlled, they can damage components or even trigger catastrophic failure. Airbus Defence and Space was in the lead to build the ESM (European Service Module) of the Orion spacecraft. It provides propulsion, power, and life-sustaining resources for the crew. To ensure absolute safety, Airbus relied on high-precision piezoelectric pressure sensors from Kistler Group. Installed directly around the propulsion system valves, these sensors captured ultra-fast pressure changes, enabling engineers to validate models, fine-tune valve behavior, and keep pressure levels within safe limits. Behind the headlines of today's historic launch of Artemis II lies years of invisible work - measuring, testing, and validating the smallest details. At Kistler, we’re proud that our sensor technology contributes to making human spaceflight safer; by turning millisecond phenomena into actionable insight. The best discoveries are the ones you have to search for. At Kistler, that’s what we do every day: we help our customers find what's hidden. The invisible forces, pressures, and signals inside their processes make the difference between good and great. Whether it's detecting micro-defects in medical devices, uncovering pressure patterns in injection molding, or identifying load effects in bridge monitoring - our sensors find what others miss. Happy Easter from all of us at Kistler! We hope your egg hunt is as precise as our measurements. 🐣🌸 #HappyEaster #KistlerGroup #MeasurementTechnology #MakingTheInvisibleVisible

The RV-5 captures true 5-axis wheel movement (X, Y, Z, camber, toe) in real time. Its redesigned core uses magnetic absolute encoders, delivering cleaner signals and improved robustness compared to previous generations. Mounted directly on the wheel carrier, the sensor measures wheel motion exactly where it happens, enabling deeper insights for vehicle dynamics, chassis development, ADAS validation, and motorsport testing. Best of all: the RV-5 is fully compatible with existing RV systems, making upgrades straightforward. It is available now in versions for both passenger cars and trucks. #VehicleDynamics #AutomotiveTesting #SensorTechnology #MeasurementTechnology #Engineering #Automotive #Innovation #Technology

Post-process inspections alone cannot guarantee zero-defect production in medical manufacturing. Our CSO David Stucki explains how measuring quality directly inside the mold makes the difference. And what that looks like in practice with our customer EVCO Plastics.
"Cavity what?" 🤔 When I visit industrial companies, I’m often surprised that cavity pressure technology in plastics still isn’t as well known as it should be. That’s unfortunate — especially in the medical industry, where zero compromise on quality is essential 🏥 With the ComoNeo cavity pressure monitoring system from Kistler Group, manufacturers can achieve true zero-defect production and full traceability for every single cavity. Instead of depending on costly and sometimes unreliable post-process inspections, quality is measured directly inside the mold — in real time, during the process itself 📊 And with features like the automatic hot-runner balancing Multiflow, scrap can be virtually eliminated. ✅ Want to know more about it? Watch the video below. We recently partnered with EVCO Plastics, a leading contract manufacturer of plastic components for medical OEMs, to help bring their production processes to the next level 🚀 #MedicalManufacturing #InjectionMolding #QualityEngineering #Innovation #MedTech #ZeroDefects #Automation
