Dart v6.18: AI agents, skills, and more

Thursday, July 17th, 2025

1. AI agents

  • Dart can now manage all sorts of agents natively!
  • Visit the agents page to set up new agents with your team
  • You can use our builtin Codegen coder agent, Magic Patterns designer agent, Clay customer data agent, or Predis social media manager agent
  • Or you can make your own that does anything via API
  • Once you make an agent, simply assign them to a task or tag them in a comment to put them to work

2. AI skills

  • For standard workflows, Dart now supports standard prompt-based skills
  • Go to the skills page to see some of the existing skills you can use
  • Make your own skills for common Dart AI workflows
  • Reference these by clicking or referencing them in the AI chat

3. AI chat v2

  • There are some suggestions for useful workflows in the empty page
  • AI chat works and looks good on mobile now
  • Tag URLs so that Dart AI can see external pages
  • Dart AI now has access to the help center so if it can't help with something it can always offer some tips
  • You can tell the chat to do certain tasks and it will do them for you
  • Standardized context and typeahead dropdown options
  • Fixed a bug with the history in the chat that meant clicking certain history items would not work properly
  • Improved a number of layout, focus, loading, and other interactions for usability and responsiveness
  • Deleting a chat now has a confirmation dialog
  • Some text would change format after streaming
  • We now prevent editing checkboxes in Dart AI's messages
  • Dart AI is more likely to tell you honestly when it doesn't know/can't tell you something
  • Dates are handled better and are more likely to be correct
  • When you start typing in the context dropdown to search for context, it is no longer possible to inadvertently lose focus

4. Domain migration

  • Dart has moved from its old URL to dartai.com
  • As part of this, we have unfortunately had some outages with external apps and integrations--these are mostly resolved now

5. MCP/LLM improvements

  • You can now see and add comments with the MCP, other LLM integration, or the public API
  • These platforms also now support custom properties
  • And finally, the ability to see, update, and remove task relationships like blockers, subtasks, duplications, etc.
  • Added a quick link to installation for Cursor
  • Sizes are handled better and no longer fail with numbers or size words
  • Made some improvements to the Docker setup as well

6. AI settings

7. Dashboards

  • Dashboards load much faster and no longer slow the application down
  • For charts in the dashboards, there is a new setting, on by default, to hide empty values
  • Time tracking is handled better and the numbers are rounded more properly in all cases

8. Mobile ongoing improvements

  • Most menus now open from the bottom of the screen so they are easier to see and work with
  • The layout editor (accessible from the top right) is fully overhauled and much easier to use on mobile
  • Some view setup options that were missing in mobile have been added back
  • Fix an issue with overflow in the permission modal
  • We reworked what back swipe does so it is easier and more intuitive
  • Now you can open task via single tap on RM card
  • In a variety of places where you might want to edit text, the keyboard will now always open
  • Hitting enter in mobile will now submit what you were working on in most cases
  • We now don't show status or assignee names in mobile, even if the setting is set to show them

9. Performance

  • First and foremost, dashboards are way more performant and scalable than they were
  • Comments load gradually to improve app performance
  • Task automations are more performant and also more reliable and will fire if changes are made via the API, for example
  • Various typeaheads work more quickly and responsively now

10. Webhook redesign

  • Dart's webhooks are now much more capable and easy to use
  • You can make multiple webhooks that point at different URLs
  • Each webhook can be configured to only send certain events

11. Improvements

  • The three dots on dartboards were not rounded correctly at the top
  • Timezones are handled much better, so tasks that are due on a given date will show as the same date for all users regardless of timezone
  • We no longer show the attachment loading ring when it's at 0%
  • Status is no longer locked as last column and can instead be moved around and defaults to the first comment
  • The description during task creation using the modal is collapsed by default for convenience

  • You can select and work with multiple tasks at once in the roadmap
  • Recents widget on homepage no longer shows 'Docs' section when there are none
  • Dates are now on by default
  • When editing tasks and comments you can drop attachments into the text area to include them inline
  • Certain attachment types didn't work
  • The emoji typeahead is more performant and looks better
  • Filters and visualization information is reset in archives when starting the next cycle
  • Normal dropdowns now always cover their buttons in the task detail
  • Added icons for task types in dropdown menus
  • Pulsing to indicate agent progress now only shows for agents in tasks with started statuses
  • Rotating webhook secrets is now controlled on the backend
