About us
EURid manages the .eu, .ею and .ευ extensions upon appointment by the European Commission. From the start of .eu, we have worked towards building a trustworthy online space that allows for self-expression and business development to thrive. That’s why we care about transparency and accountability. For this purpose, we want to ensure that the person behind a domain name is both known and real, and that abusive domain name practices are stopped in their tracks before causing harm to others. We do this through WHOIS Quality, Anti-abuse tools, and collaborations with EUIPO, Europol, and the IACC. While we strive for a transparent and accountable online space, we also empower our domain name holders to secure their domain name(s). We do this by offering DNSSEC, Registry Lock, and WHOIS services for holders to protect their IP rights. With our domain names, you can fully express your identity in any official EU language script and share your story with the world through our .eu stories. Today, it counts over 3.8 million registrations, making it the ninth-largest country-code top-level domain worldwide. Designed to provide a pan-European online identity for businesses, citizens and organisations, .eu has contributed to strengthening the EU Single Market and supporting cross-border digital presence. It has also demonstrated strong reliability, operating without any outages since its launch.
