Walltopia delivered the bouldering area for Kraftwerk in Althofen, Austria — a compact yet impactful addition to a multi-activity family entertainment center (FEC) designed to promote an active lifestyle within the local community.
Kraftwerk brings together a wide range of activities under one roof, including an indoor playground, bouldering gym, virtual reality arena, group classes and training rooms, and a café, creating a destination that appeals to all age groups. Within this diverse environment, the bouldering area adds a highly engaging and repeatable activity, naturally encouraging progression and making it a strong complement to the overall offering.
The wall design features a combination of natural wood, turquoise, and graphite panels, creating a modern and cosy atmosphere. Despite its compact footprint, the layout maximizes usable climbing surface and route-setting potential, demonstrating how efficient design can deliver strong value even in smaller spaces.
The installation is completed with Climbmat BM 300 safety mats, featuring a hard edge for durability and a dark grey carpet cover for a clean finish and comfortable landings.
Kraftwerk is a strong example of how climbing can be successfully integrated into multi-activity environments, enhancing the overall experience while supporting active, community-focused lifestyles.
