• If I deactivate the BigCommerce For WordPress Plugin for a period of time… then reactivate it, will all the settings, files and content be restored? Does it effect anything on the BigCommerce side?

    thanks,
    Ron

It doesn’t affect anything at all on the BC side, but it DOES remove all your settings and products from WordPress. So if you reactivate you’ll need to reconnect to BC. Then it’ll pull all the products in again.

    Glad I asked.

One more question. In the content area of the products on WP I’ve changed that content. I know that when products synch up it’ll check to see if the product content on WP has changed… and if so will not touch it. By deactivating the BC4WP plugin, those product content changes disappear?

Yep. Those posts get deleted entirely when you deactivate. That’s last time I looked, it’s been many months, check the Settings to see if there’s an option to “Keep content when plugin is deactivated” or something. But I suspect it all gets wiped.

Deactivating the plugin doesn’t remove any posts, categories, settings, etc.

If you delete the plugin, the plugin will attempt to delete everything (and succeed if it doesn’t hit a process time limit).
