shortcode for jquery not working?

    I created a test script to prevent the <a> from firing, pasted the code [cmruncode name=”jk3″] as a Paragraph (it created a shortcode template), enabled the code, but when run the link opens as always.

    I solved this one myself, apparently the $ shortcut was used by other libraries in WP, had to use
    var $j = jQuery.noConflict();
