How to create Instagram posts and stories
- Log in to your Canva account. Start with a ready-made Instagram post or video template. Or, begin with a blank slate.
- Upload your images, logos, or illustrations. Edit seamlessly using our free photo editor. Add stickers, text, and other graphic elements.
- Add your videos and clips, then edit them using our free video editor. Crop, trim, or resize your videos, and magically edit with our AI video editing tools.
- Collaborate with others in real-time. Give edit and view access to clients, friends, or teammates.
- Download your Instagram post or video in various file formats. Share them directly on Instagram, right from Canva.
Your questions, answered
Instagram, on its own, is a platform where you can get the word out about your business and drive sales. But with an Instagram graphic, you can establish brand consistency across all your channels. For your IG page, you can use high-quality graphics that reflect the real you.
Instagram graphics range from feed posts (which can either be a photo or a video), carousels, Reels, to Stories. You can make all of these on Canva, with ready-made templates, AI helpers, and drag-and-drop tools.
Absolutely! You can easily add your own logo or artwork to your Instagram design created on Canva.
Here's how you can add your brand logo:
- From the editor side panel, select Brand. If you don’t see it, select Apps first.
- Select a logo to add it to your design.
- Drag the logo to your preferred position on your design or resize it.
Remember, only owners, administrators, and brand designers can upload brand logos to the Brand Kit.
If you are using your own artwork or images, follow these steps:
- On the editor side panel, select Uploads.
- Then select Upload files.
- Click on the images or files you want to add to your design.
- Once the images are uploaded, drag them to your preferred position on your design.
If you include text, make sure it’s clear, simple, and easy to read; use color contrast for enhanced legibility; use a visual hierarchy to grab attention; choose colors that fit the mood you want to create; and settle on the right typography for the tone of your message.
At this time, adding catchy popular tunes to your Instagram graphics is currently only released in the following regions: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and parts of Europe (*Only in France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Denmark, Hungary, Greece, Norway, Croatia, and Luxembourg). We’re hoping to enable it in more regions soon!
