- Open Canva on your browser, desktop app, or mobile device. Search “Doc” or click the Docs tab on the homepage.
- Choose one of our notes templates or start with a blank page.
- Jot down your notes with our familiar text-editing interface.
- Choose fonts, and add photos, stickers, emojis, and even videos.
- Canva auto-saves your notes. You can share your notes with teammates, family, or friends.

Yes, note taking on Canva Docs is free! Canva Docs is and forever will be free to access and use whether you’re on a Free, Teams, Education, or Enterprise account. However, there may be some additional features or content you can only access with a paid subscription.

Absolutely. Canva Docs is available on mobile, so you can write notes on the go.
Yes! Just open the “Share” menu in the right-hand section of the editor and open “Download.” Choose a PDF format and download your notes.
On your keyboard, press and hold the “Ctrl” key (or “Command” if you’re on Mac) + “F” key to open the find-and-replace tool.
Alternatively, click File on the upper left-hand section of the editor. Scroll to Find and Replace Text.
To add images, tables, charts, and other visual elements, click the + button on your doc. Canva’s /Magic menu should appear. Then type in what you’re looking for or scroll through the different elements you can add to your doc.
If you’re taking notes on mobile, click the + button on the bottom toolbar, then click “Elements” to add graphic design elements or “Gallery” to insert photos and videos from your device.
Magic Write is free for everyone to use. Canva Free users can generate up to 50 pieces of content for free. Subscribers with a Pro, Teams, or NFP subscription can generate up to 500 of content using their subscription per user per month.
Yes. You or anyone with commenting or editing access to your notes can add a comment. To add a comment, highlight the text or element you want to comment on. Click the Comment icon from the floating toolbar.
If you want to mention someone in the comment, type @ or click the @ icon, then select a user from the list. Be sure you’ve updated the permissions on the Share tab so that tagged users can see your comment.
