Making a Global Impact Locally

DPD Ireland delivers over 40 million parcels per year. We recognise that our vehicle fleet is responsible for over half our total emissions. To address this, we're investing €3 million in decarbonising our transport operations by the end of 2025.

Our Commitment to Electric Vehicles

We're actively transitioning our final-mile vans to fully electric alternatives, offering a quieter and more sustainable delivery experience. So far, we've deployed over 300 electric vehicles in towns and cities across Ireland. We continue to invest in electric vans with a goal of having more EVs than diesel vans by the end of 2025 and being 100% electric by 2030.

Switching to Renewable Fuel

In 2023, we transitioned to 100% Hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) for our middle mile vehicles.

In 2023, our Linehaul fleet drove 3,700,000 km and saved an incredible 2,798 tonnes CO2e by using HVO as a fuel source. That’s 5 times the distance to the moon and back!

Expanding Charging Infrastructure

To support our fleet transition to EVs, we have installed 235 EV chargers across 34 of our depots with an additional 25 home chargers installed for our drivers' convenience.

Fleet Decarbonisation

We’re well on the road to fleet decarbonisation and aim to reduce our kgCO2 per parcel by 90% by 2030.

Greener Buildings

Generating renewable energy at our Athlone hub and enhancing eco-friendly practises across depots through our Green Flag Project.

Emissions Reporting

As part of the GeoPost group we're included in their Science Based Target (SBTi) to reach Net Zero by 2040. DPD Ireland however has set an internal target to reach Net Zero by 2030 for all operations on the island of Ireland. Our emissions are reported quarterly to ensure both our near and long term goals are on track to reach these targets.
