You need factory-first AI to build an AI-first factory. And you won't get it from OpenAI. AI is starting to be a big deal in manufacturing. Maybe you thought AI was just for white collar work? Think again. AI agents are coming for the factory, and they're going to make it smarter, faster, more and efficient. But ... ChatGPT doesn't run factories. Claude can't really triage alarms at 2AM. And Perplexity doesn't help operators troubleshoot real production issues. I recent chatted with Apprentice.io CEO Angelo Stracquatanio III about their manufacturing-centric AI agents that respond to events, not prompts, that are built for specific roles (operator, quality, engineering), and that are designed for consistency, not creativity.
