“Gen Z isn’t entitled. They’re just being led wrong.” 👆 That’s how Visa SVP of People, Maribel Diz, DBA reframed one of the most overused narratives in the workplace today when we sat down live at UNLEASH 2026. After nearly 30 years at Visa, Maribel has seen every version of “the future of work” come and go. What makes her perspective different is that it’s not built on theory alone. It’s grounded in real leadership experience and backed by her doctoral research into how the next generation actually thinks, learns, and engages. What emerges from our covo is a much more honest picture of what’s really happening inside organizations right now: → Gen Z isn’t the problem. 👉 The gap is in how leaders are adapting. They are capable, motivated, and wired differently. They don’t need hand-holding, but they do need context, structure, and leaders who understand how to meet them where they are without lowering the bar. We also get into one of the most debated tensions in today’s workplace. Remote work versus being in the room. Maribel doesn’t hedge. Flexibility has its place, but careers are still built through proximity, relationships, and the moments that don’t show up on a calendar. The kind of visibility that shapes opportunity doesn’t happen in isolation. And then there’s AI. Not as a threat, but as a forcing function. As automation strips away the transactional parts of HR, what’s left is the real work. You know, developing people. Building culture. Leading with intention. The bar for leadership isn’t getting lower. It’s getting sharper. ✅ This is a conversation about what it actually takes to lead across generations without defaulting to stereotypes, how to create environments where people grow instead of plateau, and why the future of work will belong to leaders who can balance empathy with standards. We close out the Unleash interviews with this gem of a chat. If you’re trying to figure out how to lead, hire, or grow talent right now, this one will challenge you in the right ways. 👉 LISTEN UP: https://lnkd.in/eaFE-Z3y WATCH! If your Pin searches are coming back with candidates that feel... off, the fix is usually not the search itself. It's the context you gave it. We're hosting a webinar on Wednesday, April 22 on how to build searches that actually deliver. It's built for anyone who wants to get more out of Pin. Our Customer Success Lead, Adriane Sidoli-Marsh, will walk you through: → How to write a brief that actually tells Pin what you're looking for → Using AI Evaluation Questions to filter smarter from the start → The feedback loop that makes Pin sharper the more you use it The session is pre-recorded, but Adriane will be hosting a live Q&A at the end. There’s a quiet fear sitting inside a lot of recruiting teams right now. Not loud. Not dramatic. But real. 👉 “Is AI coming for my job?” I asked Suzan (Dushaj) Vulaj, SVP of TA at NBCUniversal, this exact question LIVE at UNLEASH America 2026, and her answer didn’t talk around it or give some bs troupe. She acknowledged it. Some recruiters are excited. Some are skeptical. Some are genuinely scared. And instead of trying to spin it, she said the quiet part out loud: that fear exists. But then she reframed the entire conversation in a way I haven’t heard articulated this cleanly before. → AI isn’t here to replace recruiters. It’s here to take away the parts of the job that recruiters never actually loved. Ya know, the ones we all HATE! The endless resume clicking. The manual workflows. The administrative grind that drains energy but adds very little human value. What’s left behind is the real work. The conversations. The outreach. The chase. The storytelling. The human connection that actually moves hiring forward. 👆 That’s the part no one wants to lose. And that’s the part AI, if implemented right, should amplify… not erase. The stone-cold truth is that AI won’t replace great recruiters. → But it will expose the difference between transactional recruiters and relational ones. And that shift is already happening. In this episode, Suzan breaks down how she’s navigating that tension across a global team with wildly different experience levels and comfort zones… and how she’s helping people move from fear to adaptability without forcing it. If you’re leading a TA team, or you’re in the seat yourself, this is a conversation worth sitting with. Because the question isn’t whether AI is coming. ✅ It’s what parts of your role are actually worth protecting. Check out my full convo with Suzan. 👉 LISTEN UP: https://lnkd.in/gKHJ8eQh Watch! There’s a moment in this conversation where Maryjo Charbonnier said something that made my glazed-over Vegas eyes open WIDE! "HR doesn’t need a better seat at the table anymore. It is the table." At UNLEASH 2026, I sat down with Maryjo (from Kyndryl) for one of the most grounded, real conversations I’ve had about AI and the future of work. No hype. No buzzwords. Just a clear-eyed look at what actually changes when AI starts shaping how work gets done. What you’ll hear in this convo isn’t theory.... 👉 It’s what happens when you start translating the business into skills, and suddenly realize you’ve been sitting on untapped talent the entire time. It’s how organizations can finally see their people… not as job titles or org charts, but as dynamic, evolving capabilities. Maryjo reframes AI in a way I haven’t heard before. Not as a tool to replace people, but as a way to understand them better. To move them. To grow them. To put them in positions where they actually thrive, rather than quietly plateauing. And there’s a subtle but powerful shift she calls out. → The burden isn’t just on companies anymore. It’s on individuals, too. In a world driven by skills data, you have to make yourself visible. Discoverable. Legible to the systems that are increasingly shaping opportunity. This is really a conversation about transformation, but not the kind we’ve been talking about for years. Not a project. Not a rollout. Something continuous. Something embedded in how companies hire, deploy, and think about talent every single day. If you care about where HR is going, how AI is actually being applied inside real organizations, and what it means for both leaders and employees trying to navigate it… this one will land. 👉 LISTEN UP: https://lnkd.in/eWcVw4BG (Watch: Link in the comments below) 🔥 THIS IS #THEPOZCAST > GET INVOLVED 🔥 🏆 These episodes of #thePOZcast, live from Unleash 2026 in Las Vegas, are proudly brought to you by our friends at Pin.com - AI Recruiting tools that automate candidate sourcing, screening, and scheduling across 850M+ profiles. Most HR leaders think AI is the biggest shift they’ll face. ❌ It’s not. ✅ The real shift is that most organizations don’t actually understand how work… works. And AI is about to expose that. I sat down with Paul Rubenstein, Chief Evangelist at Visier Inc., at UNLEASH, and this wasn’t a typical “AI is the future” conversation. This was a full rewind of how we got here….from assembly lines → to HR departments → to systems → to now AI making decisions across systems. And here is the brutal truth, if you can handle it... Most companies are racing to buy the Ferrari…without knowing how to drive it. Or worse, without understanding the road! In this episode, we get into: ↴ → Why this is the most pivotal moment in HR history (and it’s not hype) → How AI is shifting us from people-to-systems → systems-to-systems → Why data quality is about to make or break every AI investment → The real risk: not AI, but not understanding how to break down and redesign work → What HR leaders (and honestly everyone) must learn to stay relevant → Why empathy, judgment, and human context still matter more than ever Paul brings a rare perspective as an operator, consultant, and now evangelist, distilling 20+ years of HR evolution into a single clear lens on what’s coming next. This one convo will make you stop… and rethink how your organization actually operates. 👉🎧 LISTEN UP: https://lnkd.in/gAMb6zkR WATCH! Pin.com - AI Recruiting has released performance benchmarks showing its AI-powered recruiting assistant reduces time-to-hire by nearly 70%, with recruiters filling positions in approximately two weeks and achieving a 48% outreach response rate. Steven Lu, CEO and Co-Founder at Pin, said: "Recruiters spend weeks on work that should take days. When you combine a large enough candidate database with AI that understands recruiter intent, the timeline compresses dramatically. Two-week fills aren't an outlier for our users - they're the norm."
