  • Providing an open API comes with many upsides – for example, thanks to Aron's cool script, you can now visualise your favourited/starred talks at any conference that uses pretalx <3

A huuuge thank you to everyone at PyCon DE & PyData last week! I was one of the 1500 participants on-site and I had a great time. Many interesting talks, tutorials, side events, but I think I enjoyed meeting people the most. My highlights: - I found the content generally high quality and easy to follow. But there was a bit for everyone, from novice to expert. - Despite LLMs being all the rage now, I was glad to see non-hype talks on the topic. - Geospatial topics were all around, just not much in the talks! I met many who are working with/on something "geo". - Probably the coolest inclusive / female-friendly side event, Feminist AI LAN party. An unconference-style space with hacking, cutting edge AI/ML, workshops and well, and networking (both on LAN and with people :) ) If you want to join or organize your own, see: https://feministai.party/ - The people and the "openness". I found it very easy to meet and join conversations. Will go again. See you there next year? PS: I knocked together some code to to create a chart of the tracks I followed. It's all the talks and tutorials. Excluding all the conversations I had of course. Been to PyCon DE & PyData? (or any event really with a pretalx schedule?) You can try creating your own chart, here's a github gist of the script: https://lnkd.in/emizrETF
