🚀 Exciting Milestone Unlocked! 🎤✨ I’m thrilled to share that I had the amazing opportunity to be a speaker at PyCon MY 2025, hosted at Sunway University on November 1st 2025! 🇲🇾🐍 My talk, “CRUD with Class: Harnessing SQLAlchemy ORM in Python”, focused on building cleaner, scalable backend using SQLAlchemy’s ORM , transforming messy raw SQL into structured, maintainable code through object-oriented design (with a demo too!) To help everyone follow along and revisit the concepts later, I also provided a slide deck with all the key examples and insights ( will send in the comments section ) Being a speaker at such a young age was definitely nerve-wracking 😅 , stepping onto a stage full of talented and experienced developers was a huge challenge for me. But I’m incredibly proud that I pushed through the nerves, shared what I’ve learned, and contributed to a community that has supported my growth since the beginning. Thank you to PyCon MY organizers, volunteers, speakers and everyone who attended my session , your support and engagement made this experience unforgettable! Here’s to many more learnings, challenges, and opportunities ahead. #PyConMY #Python #SQLAlchemy #ORM #BackendDevelopment #PublicSpeaking #TechCommunity #SunwayUniversity

🐍 PyCon 2025 A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to volunteer at PyCon MY 2025 alongside my friends from the Sunway Tech Club 🎉 Other than running around with the mic and pretending I was busy 😢, I also got front-row seats to developers passionately debating things like tabs vs spaces and “why does this work on my machine.” Truly educational. In between that, I met cool people ✨, listened to talks that I will absolutely need to rewatch to fully understand 📚, and realised that volunteering at tech events is basically 30% helping, 70% trying to look like you belong. Jokes aside, it was genuinely impressive to see how strong the open-source community is 💛. People from completely different backgrounds coming together, sharing ideas, helping each other, and building things just because they believe in it. You don’t see that everywhere. Shoutout to the goated emcee Ryan Chan Ting En 🎤 and Clement Chong for showing me how bad I am at Clash Royale during our breaks 💔. #PyCon2025 #Python #PyConMY #SunwayTechClub

It was such a special weekend. My first time ever being a mentor🎉, and I had the wonderful opportunity to mentor at Django Girls Kuala Lumpur Workshop ! 💖 Going into it, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be such a heartwarming and inspiring experience. I got to meet my amazing mentees NOR AMIZAM JUSOH ,Safirah Tajul ,Qurratul Ainan , who were not only eager to learn but also incredibly talented. Honestly, they were so good that at some points, I felt like they didn’t even need me! 😆 Still, being there to support them, answer questions, and share little tips along the way reminded me how powerful it is to learn together. Seeing their excitement when their projects started working was the highlight of my weekend. 🥰 At the same time, I’m also volunteering with PyCon MY for Pycon Malysia 2025, and it’s been another amazing experience meeting passionate people from the Python community, learning from them, and seeing how much time and energy everyone puts into making these events possible. I’m so grateful to be part of such supportive communities that encourage learning, sharing, and growing together. Here’s to many more weekends like this — full of code, connection, and inspiration. 💻💙 #DjangoGirls #PyConMalaysia #Python #Mentorship #Community #WomenInTech #LearningTogether

"If you were to deliver a talk in a conference for Ruby engineers, what would the topic be?" That question from my supervisor framed my entire experience at PyCon MY. My decision to submit a talk likely raised a few eyebrows, as my former colleague even asked point-blank why I would make such a decision as an introvert. In some ways, I realized the ability to effectively communicate ideas is part of the professional socialization process, and this was my test. The challenge was immediate: Preparation for the talk only started one week before the actual event. Given the tight timeframe due to endless delays, I leveraged modern tools to get organized. I started by getting NotebookLM to generate an overview based on my source material, and then turned to Gemini to start drafting the actual presentation script. This assistance was a luxury my younger self couldn’t have imagined. Despite the preparation, my carefully crafted plan failed on stage. Juggling three devices at a time proved impossible, and I ended up forgetting the script and just autopiloting through the presentation. While I didn’t keep track, I likely missed out on a rough guesstimate of 40% of the content. The moment of crisis on stage felt like a massive failure. However, the reflection that followed was the true reward. I realized that the choice of topic is a major consideration, but the willingness to put oneself out there matters more. Speaking in a conference calls back to the problem I had when I started writing about AsyncIO—the constant need for shared knowledge on the topic. Read the full story of the ordeal, the tools I used, and the surprising lesson I learned about professional growth. https://lnkd.in/gZgqJuw6 #PyCon #Python #PublicSpeaking #CareerGrowth #AITools

✨ PYCON Malaysia 2025 is a wrap! 🐍 ✨ A few weeks ago, we successfully concluded PyCon MY 2025, a two-day Python conference held in collaboration with Sunway Tech Club. After nearly seven months of planning and coordination with the amazing PYCON organising team, seeing the event come to life was truly rewarding. Last year, I had the honour of serving as the Emcee of PYCON MY 2024 🎤 , and this year, I returned as the main Person-in-Charge liaising and representing Sunway Tech Club, Sunway University and Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University. Watching our current committee members step up, volunteer, and contribute with such enthusiasm filled me with pride and gratitude. This experience has been deeply meaningful, and I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to James IW Tang, Max Yap, Hong Vin Koay, Ivy Fung, Hilmi Bakhari, Siow Yen Chong, Daphne Choong and the entire PYCON volunteer team for their dedication, countless meetings, and strong teamwork in making this event a success. And of course, to my wonderful STC Committee Volunteers, I hope you had an amazing time helping out, learned a lot from the experience, and built stronger bonds with one another! 💗 Here’s to more collaborations and learning opportunities that continue to bridge students and the tech community, and hopefully, I’ll see you all again at next year’s PYCON! 💻🤝 #PYCONMY #SunwayTechClub #TechCommunity #Leadership #Teamwork #Collaboration #SunwayUniversity #PYCONMY2025 #PYCON2025

I had an amazing time speaking at PyCon MY , hosted in Kuala Lumpur last weekend. 🇲🇾 It was inspiring to be surrounded by passionate developers, open-source contributors, and curious minds from across the region - all connected by one language: Python. I shared my journey building RedCoffee, an open-source Python CLI that transforms SonarQube data into portable, insightful PDF reports - a small project that’s grown beyond expectations. A huge thanks to the organising team at PyCon Malaysia for such a well-run and welcoming event, and to everyone who showed up for my talk and shared their ideas afterward. #PyConMY #Python #OpenSource

November 1st | Honored and absolutely thrilled to have served as one of the Emcees for PyCon MY 2025! 🎤 It was an incredible experience connecting with the vibrant Python community, introducing brilliant lineup of speakers, and keeping the energy high. Events like this truly underscore the power of open source and collaboration. Once again a huge thank you to PyCon MY and Sunway Tech Club everyone who attended for making it such a success.
