Rest your eyes

Look away from the screen and give close-up work a pause. Caesura reminds you to focus on something in the distance and blink.

Get moving

Walk to the kitchen. Take the stairs. A reminder to get up gives you a reason to break up a long stretch of sitting.

Unwind your wrists

Good questions.

Everything else you might want to know.

What does Caesura do?
Caesura is a break reminder app that lives in your Mac’s menu bar. It reminds you to drink water, walk, stretch your wrists, rest your eyes, change posture and take a breathing break. Choose the reminders you want and set a separate interval for each.
Will it interrupt my meetings?
You can enable automatic pausing for supported video calls, screen sharing and fullscreen apps. Detection depends on the app and your settings; you can always pause reminders yourself.
Can I make the reminders less noticeable?
Yes. Choose an overlay, a banner or a notification, and adjust the interval for each break. Turn off any reminder you don’t need.
Are the reminders based on research?
The activities are informed by research on screen work, movement and rest. The intervals are adjustable starting points, not a medical prescription. The Evidence page explains the research and its limits; Caesura itself has not been clinically tested.Read the evidence.
How does the free trial work?
You get every feature for 14 days, with no account or credit card required. After the trial, buy a one-time license to continue using reminders. Your settings stay saved, and there is no automatic charge.
Which Macs are supported?
Caesura runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It is a native Mac app, with no iPhone companion.
Is there a subscription?
No. One purchase gives you a permanent license, with free updates. If it isn’t right for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of purchase for a refund.
