One thing I forgot to mention is that the video coming form the caller running UT will be on landscape. This makes it a bit irritating as other video call members will be on portrait orientation, I'm not sure if this is a limitation of Whatsapp Web itself or if it has anything to do with how UT exposes the camera to browsers and web apps. If anyone has a clue please let me know. At the moment it's either burn through my battery because of Waydroid (And use headphones as to avoid that horrible echo) or annoy anyone I video call because they see me in between two gigantic black bars. Here is the post to discuss the echo problem if anyone is interested: https://forums.ubports.com/post/97186

one more question, it would be great, if we can run some apps really in background. So for example actvitiy tracker. It seems, that even if i allow backrund running in ut-tweak tools, the app does not work anymore. it seems for me, that gps does not give any data if the device is in suspend mode. is it possible to solve that, or does it confict in general with the UT design.. regards

@gpatel-fr For me, changes to the "silent mode" setting take effect only after restarting the phone. So I think it's a bug on OS level. It worked in former UT versions as expected.

Last update. If you run MIUI, @kln_nurv is maybe right (if you buy the device from a non official channel) and wrong (if you buy the device through official channels). I cannot test the latter but I can confirm the former. HyperOS users are doomed to stay there. Either case Xiaomi is not willing to help and support is useless. Xiaomi support tells me I cannot claim any warranty because I bought it outside their official channels but at the sane time Xiaomi doesn:t answer any question about unlocking because it would void the warranty. It's a nonsense trap. The thing is I don't care about warranty. It works well ... well the Google&Xiaomi way. I just want to get rid of them and come back to ubuntu touch. One last attempt: Is it necessary to unlock in order to flash the required official Android 10 ROM (V12.0.9.0.QJGMIXM)? Could flashing it trigger something in Xiaomi's servers to activate rhe device and allow unlocking it? I know. It may not make sense, but I am on the verge of despair ...

Since the update to 24.04-1.5, the device (Pixel 3a) has definitely become slower. It takes longer to open apps. Scrolling is accompanied by stuttering. Battery consumption also seems to have increased.

@purplevvay said: As long as an image looks good on all screens and no copyright laws and license given rules are violated than we are safe. Yes you are correct. Instead of relying on hearsay on the Internet, I browsed the source and the only obligation is on the system generating images, and it's only machine-readable marking, no mandatory visible one (unless it's 'deep fake' but that's another matter). AFAICT there is nothing preventing anyone to generate images from a non conforming system, or using a conforming system but removing the machine readable marking.

@gpatel-fr Python support is certainly something I could take a look at, but not promise right now off the top.

@Riyadh Great! Any way you could test the proximity sensor? Basically, make a call and see if the screen goes black when it's close to your face, then comes back when you put it away from your face. The hardware itself was broken on my phone so I could never test it.

@lsitongia Yeah this is a long time issue. I will try this the next time. Personally, I just restart the whole process when it happens

@arubislander No need noscript for ads, there's ublock origin for ads. Noscript is more for security protection against malicious behaviours. That's why I'm curious here.
