Sharing a home isn't the same as sharing a bank account

Plenty of people share a home and stay financially their own person. Partners, roommates, family under one roof. That's a choice, not a phase. The problem is that everything built for shared money assumes you're on your way to combining it, and everything built for splitting assumes you're on a trip that ends.

The elephant in the room

Splitwise. There, it's said. Even splits aren't wise when incomes aren't even. Handshakes don't settle everything. Keep conversations about money honest and fair, all sweet, never sour. You don't need another bank account to settle up, and you don't need to split it down the middle to call it fair. Keep the elephants out of the room.

Don't settle for less. Go ahead, have another cherry.

Most splitting apps
  • Everything melts into one numberThey add it all up and hand you a single balance. What it was actually for is gone, and so is any way to disagree with one part of it.
  • Even by defaultEvery expense starts split evenly. When you don't all earn the same, an even split quietly takes a bigger bite out of the smaller paycheck, every single month.
  • Cash and credit count the sameIt makes no difference to them whether you handed over cash or floated it on a card and carried it. To the person carrying it, it makes a lot of difference.
  • Designed for a group tripFine for a weekend that settles up and ends. A home doesn't end. The same things come due again next month, and the month after that.
Have Another Cherry
  • Every expense stays its own lineNothing is ever rolled into a lump sum. When someone pays, that payment clears the specific things it covered, and everyone can see exactly which ones.
  • One ratio, agreed onceDecide together what fair looks like for your household, by income or by anything else everyone accepts. Every expense uses it from then on, with no negotiation at the till.
  • How it was paid is part of the recordCash, card, or transfer is saved with the expense. Fronting something on credit is visible as what it is, instead of disappearing into the total.
  • Built for the things that repeatSet the ones that come around every month once. They log themselves, split themselves, and show up on the ledger before they're due.

Three things, then it runs itself

Setup is a one-time conversation, not a monthly chore. After that the app is somewhere you glance, not somewhere you work.

  1. Start a household and invite them One group, one private code. Everyone you live with joins by email in about a minute.
  2. Agree on the ratio once Set the share each person carries. You can still override any single expense when it makes sense to.
  3. Log it, settle it, forget it Photograph a receipt or type it in. When one of you pays the other back, the app records which items that money closed.

Your ledger is nobody else's business

Money between two people is about as private as information gets. It's treated that way.

The ledger is encrypted. We keep your email address and nothing else. Nothing is sold or shared, and there are no ads in the ledger.

The full detail, including what the AI features send and what they don't, is on the Privacy & Security page.

Keep your money. Share the life.

The web app works today, it's free, and there's no card to enter. The iOS and Android builds go out to this list as soon as they're ready.
