True youth protection can be achieved only through the focused commitment of everyone in Scouting. It is the mission of Youth Protection volunteers and professionals to work within Scouting America to maintain a culture of Youth Protection awareness and safety at the national, territory, area, council, district, and unit levels.

Required Training
  • SAFE Guarding Youth Training is required for all registered volunteers and is a joining requirement.
  • SAFE Guarding Youth Training must be taken every year. If a volunteer’s SAFE Guarding Youth Training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered.

Online courses are available for busy volunteers who want to be trained at their convenience. It is even broken up into modules, which allows students to stop and return to their modules with ease.
