Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (this “AUP”) governs your access to and use of the Sites and Services (each as defined in the StackBlitz Terms of Service, available at https://stackblitz.com/terms-of-service (the “Terms”), including StackBlitz, Bolt, bolt.host, the StackBlitz SDK and embeddable editor, and the WebContainer API, made available by StackBlitz, Inc. (“Stackblitz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This AUP is incorporated into and forms a part of the Terms. Capitalized words used but not defined in this AUP have the meanings given to them in the Terms. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. The version of this AUP that is effective at the time of your use governs; material changes take effect as provided in Section 9 and the Terms.

Separate Written Agreements. If your use of the Services is governed by a separate written agreement with Stackblitz, that agreement determines whether and to what extent this AUP applies and controls to the extent of any conflict.

1. Your Responsibility

You are responsible for all content and activity associated with your account and for any application, website, code, output, or other content you create, generate, request, upload, host, store, deploy, or distribute through the Services (“Your Content”), whether created by you, by users you permit, or with the assistance of the Services’ artificial intelligence features. You must ensure that Your Content and your use of the Services comply with this AUP and all applicable laws. Stackblitz does not undertake to pre-screen Your Content and is not responsible for it, but may review, remove, restrict, or decline to generate it as described in this AUP.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Services to create, generate, request, solicit, upload, host, store, display, deploy, transmit, distribute, or otherwise make available any content, application, or website that consists of, depicts, promotes, facilitates, or provides instructions for:

  1. Sexual content. Sexually explicit content, pornography, or pay-for-access adult content; explicit sexual acts or content intended to cause sexual arousal or gratification; sexualized or explicit nudity, or the depiction of intimate body parts for the purpose of sexual gratification; the use of any artificial intelligence or editing technique to generate, simulate, or alter an image or other content so as to depict a person in a nude or sexualized manner; or the solicitation, promotion, advertising, or facilitation of prostitution, escort services, or other commercial sexual services.
  2. Child sexual exploitation and abuse. Any content that sexually exploits, sexualizes, endangers, or otherwise harms a minor, including any child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”) and any sexualized depiction of a minor (whether actual, fictional, or generated or altered by artificial intelligence), or any content or conduct that facilitates the grooming, solicitation, exploitation, or trafficking of a minor. This prohibition is absolute and admits of no exception. Stackblitz maintains a zero-tolerance policy for such content; may use automated and manual measures to detect it; may immediately suspend or terminate accounts associated with apparent violations; and will preserve information and make reports to NCMEC or applicable law-enforcement authorities to the extent required by applicable law, and may do so where otherwise permitted by law.
  3. Non-consensual intimate imagery. Intimate or sexually explicit imagery of an identifiable person that is created, shared, or threatened to be shared without that person’s consent, including synthetic or AI-generated depictions of real persons.
  4. Violence and graphic content. Threats of violence; incitement, promotion, or glorification of violence or serious physical harm; terrorist or violent-extremist content; or gratuitously graphic or gory content.
  5. Hate and harassment. Content that attacks or demeans an individual or group on the basis of protected attributes such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or health status; and bullying, intimidation, doxxing, or targeted harassment.
  6. Self-harm. Content that promotes, encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions for suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating.
  7. Illegal or regulated goods and activities. The unlawful sale, purchase, or facilitation of drugs, weapons, firearms, explosives, counterfeit or stolen goods, unlawful gambling, or pirated content; or any other content that violates applicable law.
  8. Intellectual property violations. Content that infringes or misappropriates any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, or other proprietary right, or that circumvents technical protection measures.
  9. Privacy and personal data. The unlawful collection, processing, exposure, or sale of personal data; surveillance, tracking, or stalking of individuals without authorization; or processing of sensitive personal data without a lawful basis.
  10. Fraud, deception, and spam. Phishing, scams, fraud, or impersonation of any person or entity; deceptive or misleading content; or unsolicited bulk or junk communications.
  11. Malware and security threats. Malware, ransomware, viruses, worms, or exploits; credential-harvesting tools; or content designed to disrupt, damage, disable, or gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or data.
  12. Deceptive synthetic media and misinformation. AI-generated or manipulated content that falsely portrays real people or events in a deceptive or misleading manner, or misinformation that creates a material risk of public harm.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You may not, and may not permit or enable any third party to:

  1. share your account or login credentials, permit more than one individual to access or use a single account, or use any means to circumvent or exceed any per-user, per-seat, usage, rate, or other limits applicable to the Services (see also Section 2.1 of the Terms);
  2. resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise commercially exploit access to the Services except as expressly permitted in the Terms;
  3. reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, models, or underlying structure of the Services, except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction;
  4. use the Services, AI Output, or prompts to develop, train, or improve any product, model, or service that competes with the Services, or engage in model-extraction or model-theft attacks;
  5. scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Services through automated means, except through functionality we expressly provide;
  6. probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of, or breach or circumvent, any security or authentication measures of the Services;
  7. interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on the Services or the networks or infrastructure connected to them;
  8. access or use the Services in violation of any applicable export control or economic sanctions laws, or for or on behalf of any sanctioned or restricted party; or
  9. use the StackBlitz SDK, the embeddable editor, or the WebContainer API outside the plans, session limits, or other usage limits that apply to your account, or in a production or commercial setting without a plan or license that includes that use (see Section 1.5 of the Terms).

4. Use of Artificial Intelligence Features

The Services include AI Features (as defined in the Terms) that generate AI Output. When using these features, you must not:

  1. use AI features to create, generate, or facilitate any Prohibited Content or Prohibited Conduct described in this AUP;
  2. attempt to extract model weights or training data, or to bypass, disable, or circumvent any safety guardrails, content filters, or usage policies, including through “jailbreaking” or adversarial prompting;
  3. misrepresent AI Output as human-generated in any context where doing so could deceive or cause harm; or
  4. rely on AI Output without appropriate human review in high-risk or sensitive contexts, including medical, legal, financial, employment, or safety-critical uses.

You are responsible for reviewing and validating AI Output before relying on or deploying it.

5. Applications and Websites You Deploy

If you use the Services to build, host, or deploy an application or website (including on any subdomain we make available), you are solely responsible for that application or website and for its compliance with this AUP and all applicable laws. We may suspend, disable, take down, or remove any deployed application, website, or content that violates this AUP or that we reasonably determine poses a risk to the Services, other users, or any third party.

6. Enforcement

We may, but are not obligated to, use automated and manual means to detect, review, filter, and moderate content and activity on the Services, and we do not undertake to monitor all content. If we reasonably determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take action that we consider appropriate and proportionate in the circumstances, subject to applicable law, including:

  1. removing, disabling access to, or declining to generate content;
  2. issuing a warning;
  3. throttling, restricting, suspending, or limiting your access to features or to the Services;
  4. suspending or terminating your account; and
  5. preserving information and reporting the matter to law enforcement or other authorities.

For severe violations — including child sexual exploitation, credible threats of violence, or activity that exposes Stackblitz or others to imminent harm or legal liability — we may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice, without any data export or retention period, and without liability or refund, notwithstanding any grace period otherwise described in the Terms. Our enforcement actions are without prejudice to any other rights or remedies available to us.

7. Reporting Violations

To report content or conduct that may violate this AUP, contact us at support@stackblitz.com. To report claims of copyright infringement, please follow the procedures in Section 7 (Copyright Policy (DMCA Notices)) of the Terms, including by submitting notices to our designated agent at dmca@stackblitz.com. We review reports we receive but do not guarantee any particular outcome or response time.

8. Relationship to the Terms

This AUP supplements, and is in addition to, the restrictions set out in the Terms. In the event of any conflict between this AUP and the Terms with respect to permitted or prohibited use of the Services, the more restrictive provision controls. A violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms.

9. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised AUP and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will become effective as provided in the Terms. Your continued use of the Services after an updated AUP becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of it.
