Quite terrible to see, especially since I’ve been on literally dozens of rounds of antibiotics (including some of the particularly bad types) over the last few decades. They were necessary to my continued functioning, but the long-term impact is concerning.
A single dose of antibiotics can have lasting effects on your gut microbiome, with changes that last well beyond 4 years. Three types of antibiotics stood out for their long term disruptive impact (3 at left, Figure)
