Today in history: El Salvador proposes a mandate for accepting #bitcoin payments, which will almost inevitably occur over Lightning. 🤯🤯🤯

Amazing. If I’m reading this right, all economic agents that are technologically capable of receiving BTC as payment *must* accept it as payment — though instant conversion to USD is made available to anyone who doesn’t want to take price risk. A mandate for Bitcoin!

My big takeaway from @TheBitcoinConf: Lightning was everywhere. From @scarcedotcity auctions to @MintGox gaming to @OpenNodeCo vendors to @Bitcoinbeach economies to @Tesla charging to @sphinx_chat streaming sats to @ln_strike for nation states. Lightning ubiquity is coming. 🔥

Achieving truly decentralized finance – power to the people – is a noble & important goal. Layer count depends on projected bandwidth & compute, both rising rapidly, which means single layer network can carry all human transactions in future imo. For now, Lightning is needed.
