Underrated growth hack for B2B companies: Use newsletters a two-pronged go-to-market tool. Roadmap: 1. Achieve content-market fit. Start small with your existing leads and aim for a solid 30-70% open rate. Once your content resonates, you're ready for step two. 2. Invest to grow your newsletter to around 5,000-20,000 subscribers, focusing on your ideal customer profile. Newsletters with higher value subscribers will need fewer of them to seem impressive. This not only builds credibility but also brings in fresh leads. 3. Once you have that audience size, use the newsletter as a platform to feature your top prospects. Invite them for an interview or spotlight. This approach is a win-win: you start conversations that might have been tough otherwise, and you can follow up later to see if they’re interested in your services. In short, once your newsletter is big enough, it becomes both a lead-gen engine and a relationship-building tool.

  • 15 minutes per week and you can get your newsletter humming - seem worth it to you?

If you’re growing your LinkedIn presence, you need an email newsletter. Here’s why 👇 Everyone’s chasing LinkedIn reach right now and that’s great. But remember: you don’t own your followers here. Here’s a stat worth knowing: 📉 1,000 social followers = worth about $79/month 📈 1,000 email subscribers = worth about $582/month That’s because email subscribers are 10x more valuable - they’ve opted in to hear from you directly and you aren't subject to whether the algo shows your content to them. So if you’re already posting on LinkedIn, here’s the play: ➡️ Tease your best insights in posts ➡️ Funnel readers into your newsletter ➡️ Use your email list to build deeper relationships & drive conversions That’s how you turn LinkedIn growth into owned growth. And now, you can do it in 15 minutes a week with potions. . Here’s the stack I recommend 👇 ChatGPT → to write your LinkedIn posts HeyReach.io → to expand your LinkedIn network buzzabout → to find trending posts & inspiration potions → to run your newsletter funnel If you’re putting effort into LinkedIn, don’t stop at followers. Turn that momentum into a lasting audience.

  • Insanely excited to share out first case study with you! Check it out on our newly launched blog :) https://lnkd.in/giVcFp-7

You know that saying about the cobbler’s kids having no shoes? That was Stat Digital, a marketing agency so focused on driving growth for others that their own marketing kept falling to the bottom of the list. That’s where Potions came in. Jacob Statler and his team wanted to launch a newsletter but were staring down a $1,000+/month price tag for freelancers and tools. Not to mention hours of work every week. Instead, potions handled everything: from sourcing highly relevant content with our custom models to managing newsletter delivery and analytics right in Slack. The results: - Multiple five-figure upsells directly attributed to the newsletter - 6× increase in subscribers - 40%+ open rates - 30 hours saved every week Potions did it all for less than one-fifth of what Jacob was planning to pay. Jacob now runs a deeper, more consistent newsletter. He has better ROI, zero stress, and all his insights at his fingertips. I'm proud to say Jacob is our first case study. I'll be linking out to the full article soon :)

  • Mascot is a work in progress!! 😼

We brought the team together for an in-person week and accidentally created a mascot After talking about our Q4 goals, someone threw up a photo of a cat. We were talking GTM motion, but somehow the cat was funnier, truer, and more us than the slide behind it That image lived on. It showed up in Slack, made its way into Figma mocks, and now it's going to become a part of the Potions brand Funny how that works. You gather people in a room to talk about roadmap and funnels, and what sticks is the thing you didn’t plan for. The point of being in-person isn't just moving faster, it's letting random moments like this one in Big thanks to the team for a week full of smart ideas, late nights, and one very charming cat :)

  • Such a good time :)

Last week, we did something special We brought our New York and New Jersey team together for a full in-office week. For many of us, it was the first time meeting IRL, and it turned out to be a week packed with those spontaneous sparks you just can't get on Zoom. We kicked things off just hanging out at a local coffee shop, getting to know each other in person. Some of the highlights: A completely spontaneous moment where we came up with a new company mascot - this we never would have imagined over a video call. It’s amazing what you can create when everyone’s in the same space, communicating at low latency. We dove into our Q4 planning session. It was all about alignment. Everyone really got to see how their role fits into the bigger picture and why it matters. We did a dry run of our new newsletter and operations process, with everyone in the same room. It was amazing how quickly we could refine things together. We ended one night at a local bar with some amazing food. In-person time might mean a little less focus on deep solo work, but the trade-off is worth it. It’s not about choosing IRL over remote or vice versa - it’s about blending both to get the best of both worlds. I’m so excited to share more about our mascot soon, but for now, here’s to the magic of meeting in person 🧪✨ Pic is of those of us that got to make it to the bar!

  • We love content detox!!! :)

The Myth of the “Big List” One of the biggest misconceptions I see in email marketing: “I need a huge audience before I start a newsletter.” Not true. Some of the best-performing newsletters I’ve seen started with fewer than 100 people. Why? Because they had clarity—who they were writing for, and the value they offered. 👉 A small, high-value list will often outperform a giant, disengaged one. 👉 When you start small, you’re forced to sharpen your voice and build real trust. 👉 Every subscriber matters—and they become your early advocates. How to begin: 1. Collect emails from your existing network, or through cold outbound to high-value prospects ("hey I'm building a newsletter for <x,y,z> for <reason> - mind if I add you?") 2. Send a clear, human welcome message 3. Use ethical opt-ins so people want to hear from you Then grow deliberately. An engaged newsletter is a slow burn—compounding over time through quality and consistency. Growth comes not from blasting more people, but from resonating deeply with the right ones. So don’t wait until you have thousands. Start now. Scale later. Picture is of one of our favorite customers "tiny but effective" newsletters - Jacob Statler's Content Detox
