 What could be better...

I'm thrilled to be able to watch the storks; they breed here and raise their young before setting off again at the end of August on their long migration to South Africa. We can see them here throughout the spring and summer.

The flowers in the garden are doing their best, just like in nature; it's a dream to be out and about.

I am currently sewing the binding onto my last quilt.

...and I was thrilled to see Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty again at the Semperoper... the ensemble is fantastic.

A few years ago, I took a week-long handweaving course, and I recently had the great pleasure of working on a loom... unfortunately, it's a 1.5-hour drive away. If it were closer, I'd go more often... it's so much fun! - I'm aware that weavers used to have a tough job. -

Damask weaving began in 1666 in Großschönau, Germany. Later, in 1834, Jacquard machines were introduced for damask looms... Großschönau was considered the center of this weaving industry in Germany —three-quarters of the inhabitants wove there during its heyday 18th/19th century.

I'm currently weaving twill fabric, which is still on the loom. I'll present it as soon as it's finished.

Warmest regards to everyone near and far.

Have a good time.

The colors are coming

...we look forward to this every year.

I took some colored fabric...

and happily sewed a few coasters; such small projects among larger ones are always nice.

We went hiking and spent days in the city, including attending a performance of the ballet Vice Versa at the Semperoper... I am thrilled and fascinated.

My seat was in row two – absolutely fantastic for modern pieces – tomorrow I'm going to see Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty; I only got one ticket left in the third tier, but luckily in row 1. I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyone who has the opportunity to be in Dresden should definitely visit the special exhibition at the Albertinum "Paula Modersohn-Becker & Edvard Munch" ... it's beautiful.

Sewing took place

And there is it spread out in the last snow of the season.

And the snow was used for skiing.

The rain washed away the snow and there were beautiful hikes, especially in the Saxon Switzerland National Park.

It's always lovely to discover snowdrops, the first signs of spring.

The sun is already incredibly warm, and I was surprised to see the first bees and hear their buzzing.

Warm greetings to those near and far.
