Minsu Cho is the Mu-Eun-Jae (無垠齋) Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence at POSTECH, South Korea, where he leads the POSTECH Computer Vision Lab. His research spans computer vision and machine learning, with a particular focus on visual semantic correspondence, symmetry analysis, object assembly, action recognition, and embodied AI. He is broadly interested in the interplay between relational inference, structural analysis, and compositional learning in real-world vision problems. Prior to joining POSTECH in the fall of 2016, he held a Starting Research Position as a researcher in the Inria WILLOW team at É cole Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris, France, where he has worked with Jean Ponce and Cordelia Schmid. He received his Ph.D. in 2012 under the supervision of Kyoung Mu Lee from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, and served as a Visiting Faculty Researcher at Google Research in 2023. He serves as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV) and IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI), and has served as an Area Chair at leading venues including CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR, ICML, and NeurIPS. He was the recipient of the KCCV Sang Uk Lee Prize at KCCV 2024, was inducted into the Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology (Y-KAST) in 2020, and was appointed to the Mu-Eun-Jae Endowed Chair Professorship at POSTECH in 2024. In 2026, he was awarded the Presidential Commendation in recognition of outstanding contributions to Artificial Intelligence research in Korea. |
