I just noticed L has been writing up the progress reports for her swim students. It's cute to read her comments of encouragement.
M made it to Milan and noticed it's so much cheaper taking buses and trains than cabs there.
K has a pile of homework and review but we did manage to get him a haircut this morning. We both like quick, efficient people. M, being more of a perfectionist, prefers someone that takes his time.
We're back in the deep freeze but it was nice and sunny today. We popped out for about an hour tonight and when we got home K noticed the front door had been left unlocked the whole time. We were lucky it wasn't windy, sometimes that will blow the door wide open.

Herman's Hermits
My sister told me this amusing story about her recent visit to the dentist:
'The dentist got a dog because both her kids left the nest.... and she had a hot flash right there in the office, and she told me about it! They had to bring in a small fan, I was LMAO. quietly of course. I guess the dentist light makes it worse? I'm still chuckling.'
The other news is that SAM's Club is closing in Ontario, Canada. We go there a lot, so it's sad. It's a wholesaler store like Costco, that Walmart owns.
K had an improved report card this term, (a good one for him, anyway). And to top it off, I won a free coffee when I 'rolled up the rim' last night at Tim Horton's coffee shop.
My recently deceased aunt looked beautiful when we arrived at the viewing last night. I think the undertaker must look at past photos of the deceased when they make them up. She wore the most beautiful dress and her hairstyle was amazing. Her poor husband is still in shock, I think. A friend and I were commiserating that it must be like losing your left arm after all these years. I'm glad the kids came with us to pay their respects, a bit of a growing experience, if sad.
The local police force is sponsoring a fund raising dance this summer featuring 'Herman's Hermits'. I declined, but I do remember who they are. That's what I get for answering the telemarketing phone calls.

It's slushy time
It seems that Cadbury confectioners are recession proof and are forecasting a 2009 profit. Them and the fast food restaurants, I guess.
It's a change of routine this evening as we are heading out to the viewing this evening of my aunt who passed away last week. It's at the other end of town. L will miss one of her play performances and we'll have to see about K's homework obligations for tonight. M leaves for Italy tomorrow. I must be in the prime of my life as things are always so hectic around here. I always crave 'down time' and my own space. Actually, since yesterday, I've claimed the room where we keep the piano as no one ever plays piano anymore.
The weather's relatively mild today and brings thoughts of going back to daily walks. It was odd to see a maintenance truck parked on the local pond ice. Obviously it's still frozen. I even stopped by the local convenience store and had my favourite froster drink. The store manager said 'Long time no see...it's slushy time!'
L enjoyed her first play performance last night and proclaimed that it energizes her. She said she's quite visible on stage and has to show expression, she just doesn't say anything. But at audition, she did request a small part. She told me that a group of dancers missed their cue, to the dismay of the ones that didn't. One of last year's leads did not get a coveted role this year and actually declined the role she was given. Upon changing her mind, the role had been assigned to someone else and so she had to settle for a minor role this year. Good backstage gossip! The lead apparently has about 50 pages of lines to memorize.

Cute
Since this is a religious day, I thought this cute story would be on topic:
Shirley and Marcy
A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe. So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.
The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbour girl he knew. She did this for the whole week. As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?'
Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.'
The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'
'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'
'Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us? '
'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today and always.
I know you smiled! I sure did, Pass this on and brighten someone else's day.

High School
Today was very cold and dry, but bright and sunny with no wind to speak of. I felt wonderful.. energetic and almost bouncy... Maybe I've been eating all my vegetables and the weather helps, I'm sure.
When I was in church earlier this week, the priest reminded everyone that tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and Catholics 14 years old and upwards are asked to abstain from eating meat on that day. I'm sure I forgot last year.
This evening, I decided to boil some perogies, then saute them in some vegetable oil. Messy process really, remind me not to get anymore anytime soon. Everyone loves them once you toss them in some oil, though.
K had an interview at the local public high school today. It has a good reputation and is close to home. He'll likely start there in September. The schools around here have about 2000 kids and the vice principal admits that bullying is a fact of life. In fact, she has a confidential number boldly displayed on her bulletin board that kids can call to report incidents. It was nice of her to let us know that Grade 9 kids are a target, being new. She seems to be a 'no-nonsense' kind of person. (Well, she must have seen everything by now). K thought she was nicer than his current department head.

Superficial
K got some TAG body spray recently and I walked by the bathroom this morning and it reeked of the stuff. Guess what teenage boys are using these days? AXE is another popular brand. I remember hearing that strong perfumes were banned at some schools due to allergy concerns, maybe it was L's school.
There's a TV show that I seem to be watching lately called 'Million $ Listing' 'Each episode follows the personal dramas of thse savvy agents as they juggle multiple demands on their time and try to keep their professional lives afloat' For some reason (don't call me superficial!), I find it so interesting. Glamorous young real estate agents selling million dollar listings, and you get tours of the faboulous properties as the drama unfolds. The last episode I caught showed one of the agents buying a $600 pair of shoes to de-stress. haha.
I caught bits and pieces of the Oscar's last night and loved Penelope Cruz's dress. She looked so beautiful. Bibi mentioned on her blog that it was a vintage dress.

Last minute rush
M rushed down to the local convenience store last night before the 9pm? deadline to buy some lottery tickets for the $50 million jackpot. It seems there were some winners too. He said there was quite the lineup of last minute buyers! It didn't matter that it was cold and snowy out.
I went to church this morning. There was a sizeable 15 person choir, although some of the singing... The piano player is excellent. At the end of mass, a speaker came up to introduce a bereavement group that is available to people that are grieving. He is a widower himself and it sounded like a good group for some to work out their grief with assistance. He said most people don't often start grieving until after the funeral, when they come out of shock.
L had fun at tennis yesterday except she came home with a crick in her neck sustained diving for a shot. The important thing apparently, was that she won the game and beat her opponent.

Roast Shrimp
I was browsing through my new Barefoot Contessa cookbook and a nice pound cake recipe caught my attention. I found a similar one for you. I also noticed this Barefoot Contessa Brownie Pudding which has been captured on another blog called 'Tastefully Done' I'd like to try it because it uses cocoa powder instead of chocolate, so it should have a lot less fat.
I've also never tried roasting shrimp, so I seem to get some wonderful ideas from her.
Well, K has to hunker down for a big math test next week, and he wants to somehow go to the Raptor's Game with his dad tomorrow. I hope to catch some of the Oscar's tomorrow night (in between the 'Amazing Race'. L is due home shortly to grab a quick lunch before she heads out again, so maybe I'll try roasting that shrimp.
They said it's going to snow all weekend, no sign of it yet.

Vacations are Fun
It's the kind of day where if someone asks you 'is it nice outside?' you say 'it's sunny' because it's really on the chilly and windy side!
My morning fun was stopping by the No Frills grocery store as their Dollar sale started today. I met a frugal friend in there by chance. I was amazed at all the things I picked up and my bill was only about $50. I noticed my friend was stocking up on bottled water and juice, so I did the same. It's my sister's birthday so I called her and she misunderstood and warned me not to buy food items in a dollar store as she felt the quality is compromised. I wouldn't call myself cheap, but I do love a bargain. Now let's hope K will eat those 4 boxes of assorted soft cookies I got for his lunchbox!
Speaking of bargains, we're off to Jamaica on an all-inclusive package vacation mid-March as the kids will be off. K is really excited, he realized early on in life that vacations are fun.
L has been staying late at school rehearsing for their play. She has a bit part with no lines, (she's part of the crowd) but she has 3 costume changes and appears at the beginning, middle and end of the play. It means that she was scrambling to finish studying for her chemistry test today. It must be tough for the ones that have a lot of lines. Life is hectic.
I'm playing telephone tag with my uncle to find out the details of the funeral arrangements for my aunt late next week.
I just heard on the news that the Slumdog Millionaire lead actress has abandoned her husband that she married Dec 2007 and is dating the Slumdog Lead Actor.

Barefoot Contessa
I had to shovel quite a bit of heavy snow off the driveway today, winter's not over. Taco Bell fast food restaurant has a new lighter 'Fresco' menu and I tried the Fresco hard taco yesterday and it was delicious. It has a spicy salsa topping instead of the usual shredded lettuce and cheese and it's a winner, especially since it's healthier with about 7 grams less fat. To counter this healthy news, I bought the new 'Barefoot Contessa' cookbook because the recipes look so delicious. I think it's because she doesn't worry about her weight and just makes what tastes good. I love her tv shows, everything she does is just so stylish and she always has beautiful flowers.
M was having trouble booking Milan hotels for his trip because there is a fashion show on that week (what else?) and David Beckham will be in town. They did eventually find something. His work friend already has a fashion shopping list from his wife!

Sad Year
Wow, what a day...the snow came all of a sudden. Then my phone rang this morning and K took the call as I was unable to come to the phone. It was my aunt's husband saying she had passed away during the night. She's really my second cousin and I think she would've been in her early 70's. She had had a heart valve replacement about a year ago and I don't think the surgery went well and it eventually caused her death. It was still an unexpected surprise as she was such a smart, feisty woman...seemingly invincible right to the end. I didn't realize I was so upset until I started crying once I was able to get a hold of my uncle on the phone. The sad part is that he is alone now in a big house as they never were able to have kids. His sisters are with him though and their relatives will be flying in from all over as she had a number of siblings. We didn't see them often but kept in touch with Christmas cards and the odd phone call. When my dad passed away many years ago, I felt as if I had lost one of my biggest fans, you know, someone in your corner rooting for you. Now in a strange way, I feel as if I've lost another fan. I've always admired her spirit.
Ok, yesterday also happened to be my mother's birthday and we heard that another cousin also passed away yesterday. This woman would've turned 50 this fall, I think it was some kind of cancer. What a year.

Body Butter
Today was busy with errands but I did make it to the gym after 4 days. One of the instructors said hello to me and I didn't recognize her, but that's because she changed her hairstyle. She used to wear it up and now it's cut a bit shorter and as a result, no-one recognizes her. Good thing she didn't go blonde or something, then we really wouldn't know who it was!
I stopped by the currency exchange to get M's euros, and refilled a prescription. I got L some more body butter (cocoa and shea) as she swears by it for winter dryness but uses it all year. She says it's the only cream that doesn't burn open wounds. True enough, she smeared some on my cracked thumb the other night and it felt like new the next morning.
I baked some whole sea bass tonight and am about to try it. A lady at the grocery store told me to wrap it in foil. This grocery store is amazing, they have live whole fish and an assortment of fresh fish. I asked them to identify a few of them for me (the dead ones) and chose the sea bass. It's funny, on the radio this morning I heard them saying how fish seems to help ward against colon cancer and they were thinking it's due to the omega-3 and vitamin D that it contains.

Iceland
My good friend Japra was kind enough to point out that the popcorn video is a hoax (urban legend), thanks Japra. (Whew!)
K's friend told me that the latest dance is called the Sea Walk for anyone that's not 'in the know' (-:
So our dinner party last night was a lot of fun. I made my own salsa, along with a salsa dip that contained cream cheese and cottage cheese. That was served with plain corn tortilla chips. I also made an eggplant dip to go with vegetables. Then I had dilled smoked salmon with an assortment of rice crackers. The main course was prime rib roast and baked chicken with rice. I made a mushroom and onion sauce with the beef drippings. For dessert one of the guests brought a delicious gluten free carrot cake with cream cheese icing and I had got some Valentine cupcakes from Sam's club which the kids really enjoyed.
For dinner conversation, one of the moms mentioned that she was compiling a cookbook of all her best recipes to give to each of her kids as they go off to university. At the moment, her son will call home to ask how to make certain things anyway. Her reasoning is that you will always miss the food from home. I was so touched, what a wonderful idea! This same lady won a recent trip to Iceland of all places by calling in to a radio show. So the couple went and had an interesting time. Apparently Iceland is just a big volcano and they have a lot of good organic food there.
Another guest mentioned that they had driven by the local pond on the way over and saw it full of skaters and activity and made me wish we had time to go by there today. I think he said there was this guy out with a parasail(?) catching the wind while skating. There is also an ice sculpture display outside the local art gallery. Unfortunately, it's been a busy weekend and it has to be a study day today as it's 'back to school' tomorrow. I haven't been walking due to all the ice.

In the news article below, 88 year old Mayor of Mississauga Hazel McCallion shares some inspiring advice on her birthday. She's 'a woman who loves life'.
I was at the grocery store this morning and noticed a lady with some delicious-looking whole fish at checkout. They had been gutted and cleaned too. So I asked her how she does them, because I only do the fillets. She said it's really easy, you bake them for half an hour. She first rubs them with garlic and lots of lemon. Guess what I'm going to try soon?

Autoshow 2009
Note that as of Mar 17, 2009 I discovered the 'fake $5' is actually just an older note.
Well, our basement renovator came by this morning with a prospective customer. He had asked if he could show his work, and we agreed. Hope he gets his new contract, I heard business is slow these days.
Then M, K and I went off to the Autoshow as the kids had the day off. L decided to pass on the event. She's off at a driving lesson at the moment. Wonder if she went on the highway? Eeps. Can you believe we were grabbing some treats at a convenience store inside Union Station downtown and M was given a counterfeit $5 bill as a part of his change? Luckily we caught it in time. M just asked the guy for some change for the bill and didn't raise a fuss.
A friend of mine has a 10- year- old son who became ill with mysterious stomach pains after an Xmas trip to India. He's been off school all year and now he is to see a GI specialist (gastro-intestinal). They got an appointment for: June 30th! Our health care system is not working.
On quite a different topic, M was talking to a male friend while he was at the gym the other day and the friend remarked that there was this hot young thing in tights working out on one of the new machines where you have to bend over and practically stick your bum out. The friend was working out right behind her only to notice she had a hole in the crotch of her tights! He said there was no decent way to point it out to the poor woman. So they just had a good laugh. Ladies...be careful!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, hope it all goes well!

Daily Happenings
I bought K the first in the series 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' by Jeff Kinney and what do you know, he's reading it! My kids don't usually really read unless they have to.
He went to a Valentine's Dance at school and it sounds like it was fun. I asked him if he danced and he said 'yes'. I said 'can you show me how you danced?' He holds both arms out and then says 'then you just sway like this, it's easy'. I go 'that looks like slow-dancing..you were SLOW DANCING?' He goes 'yes, it's no big deal' I go 'You asked a girl to dance?' He said he asked about 4 girls and they all said 'yes'. Upon my prompting, he said some of his friends were also dancing. He said one crazy boy ran around asking and got refused. Some just watched too. I said 'I don't think L has even slow danced with a boy yet'. He says 'you mean she's never?' and this thoughtful look comes on his face. Well, if only he could be as academic as he is 'the party person'. He turns 14 in April.
At the gym this morning, I walked in and it was reasonably quiet except for this lady chatting away in a loud voice (she's always like that). At the elliptical machine, this other older lady says to me 'don't you think she's loud?' I acknowledged her feeling. Then she says 'I've already asked her to tone it down'. I was surprised. Then she leans over and makes a rude remark to the loud lady who then lowered her voice. This same lady also complains about the loud music, which again, she does have a point, but being more tolerant, I thought the loud lady was just being herself, a sort of vivacious and lively type. The older lady has to accept that she's not in her own private gym, I think. Of course, I can't help thinking that the loud lady's husband must like a lot of chatting!

New Motto for Women in 2009
I got this email from a friend this morning and loved it. Hope you enjoy it too! Great advice.
A Poem About Our Girlfriends & Sisters
Someone will always be prettier.
Someone will always be smarter..
Some of their houses will be bigger.
Some will drive a better car..
Their children will do better in school.
And their husband will fix more things around the house.
So let it go, and love you and your circumstances
Think about it!
The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
The most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.
The richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the
clothes and might be lonely.
And the word says, 'If I have not Love, I am nothing.'
So, again, love you. Love who you are.
Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say, 'I am too Blessed to
be Stressed and too Anointed, to be Disappointed!'
'Winners make things happen~~ Losers let things happen..'
Be 'Blessed' Ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.
To the world you might be one person, to me you are special!

Canadian International Autoshow
Well, the upcoming long weekend's looking busy. For one thing, the Canadian International Autoshow will be on so we have to check it out. It's the only type of trade show that K will willingly go to and enjoy. He also wanted to have a couple of friends over for a sleepover. They decided it should be at his house as he's been telling them the basement's all ready. One poor boy is running a fever at the moment but is hoping he'll be well enough by the weekend to attend! L is also having a couple of friends over that same night. Then we have our dinner party for 12 or 13 people. We decided to put lasagna on the back burner and do some roast meat along with lots of fresh vegetables and herbs instead. It's more foolproof in terms of known ingredients. I did find some everyday gluten free rice crackers that will go well with smoked salmon as an appetizer.
So we were watching the grammies on Sunday and I realized I knew quite a lot of the songs thanks to the kids taking over the radio stations in the car. That's me, staying young and hip!
L is having late practice over the next few weeks for the school play. K has a school ski trip coming up. The house is overdue for a good dusting...I should really get to it. (sigh) Having company over is great initiative for getting the house in order!
Oh, I had 2 near slips on some black ice this morning on my way to the mailbox. I was amazed at my agility, or my time hadn't come! Not great walking weather yet.

Spring-Like
It's gorgeous and spring-like today. The gym was sooo crowded. Pro basketball player Tony Parker was a guest on Regis and Kelly this morning. He's married to Eva Longoria. His father is an African-American basketball player and his mom is a blonde Dutch born model. Tony grew up in Paris. He came across very naturally, boyish and soft-spoken. He told Regis he got to know Eva by inviting both her and her dad to dinner the night he met them. Cute.
K went to school, although he's a bit sick with a virus. I think the worst is over. L is taking a make-up test after school, one that she missed when she was sick last week. M is going to Italy for a week on a business trip towards the end of the month. He doesn't travel often, but who wouldn't mind going to Italy?
March break holidays are coming up and I heard there are lots of good travel deals. A lot of people seem to be going to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. ($1000 all-inclusive packages).

A loud beeping noise
I was harshly woken up this morning by a loud beeping noise. I thought it was the house alarm, so I ran to check that. Then M tells me it's the smoke alarm, he had put a bagel back into the toaster as it wasn't dark enough and then it burned and smoked. So he just waved a cushion under the alarm, and that usually works. My heart was still pounding, however and my legs felt weak.
Last night, I caught an episode of The Wild Gourmets on Food TV. It's a lovely show, but this week they decided to hunt grey squirrel for a meal. I had to look away as they held the dead animal, skinned and prepared it.
It's a gorgeous, sunny day, another mild one near the freezing mark. On Friday, I was talking to a 'friend of a friend' and he mentioned that while the weather in Vancouver (western Canada) is mild in the winter, his experience is that you don't see the sun for a good six months and that can be depressing. He did say that they do have the most beautiful spring and summer seasons.

The temperature is way up today as we're having a sudden warm spell (7C). K is just doing a bit of homework today and L enjoyed her tennis lesson. Her masked semi-formal went well. We signed K up for a week of tennis during March break as he's itching to get some practice. M agreed to assemble some shoe racks for me, I better 'remind him'.

Well, well
Something interesting happened at McDonald's this morning regarding some people I met by chance, but I've decided to leave it at that for now!
I called my doctor this morning to ask about my spot compression mammogram of Jan 29th. The secretary said 'there's nothing'. Which is pretty great, but I'm now thinking the first mammogram must not have been done properly to put me through all this double checking!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Where Does a Woman's Money Go?
This is a cool video, about one minute long
'Where does a woman's money go?'
I was doing a bit of shopping today, more like browsing. Anyway, I decided to inquire at this office supplies store whether I could have my Health Card (Canadian) laminated. The man said, 'you never want to do that to any kind of Government document, for example, a birth certificate.' True enough, I remember a kid doing that at the airport once and he was almost not allowed to leave the country. A lot of people are trying to hang onto their old health cards as long as possible because the new ones are like driver's licences that have to be renewed every so often with a photograph.
The past few days have been sunny and dry and I have to say I feel really energetic and not fatigued. Wish it could last. All the really arthritic people must be having good days too. I located some oven ready lasagna that is really 'brown rice pasta' that is gluten free. I may try it for that upcoming dinner party where one of the kids has a gluten allergy. M thinks I should test it first, but ...I'll have other things on the menu. It does say on the box to keep the noodles really covered with sauce.

Winter Lodge
I ran into a friend at the gym this morning. She told me she had been skiing at a friend's winter lodge recently. (I don't have any friends with a winter lodge, sigh). Anyway, you have to get to this place by toboggan, then you spend your time skiing. She said at night it is so beautiful up there when the place is all lit up. I could only imagine. She's retired and is off to North Carolina to do some golfing next week, then spending a week in Paris with another friend, then off to southern Morocco to do some hiking after. Lilly, I mentioned to her about that blonde you knew of being abducted on the streets of Morocco, and she said 'hopefully they won't want anything to do with a 60 year old!' Her husband had been stricken with Bell's Palsy about a year ago, but suddenly improved in the past few months. He can ski a little, but his balance is still affected a bit. They are not wealthy people, but manage their money carefully so they can do the things they want in retirement.
It's bright and sunny and colder than ever. I made chicken winglettes today, K's favourite. L's home for the 3rd day in a row, but should be back at school tomorrow. Her table of 10 is full for the upcoming semi-formal, 5 more from her social group had to start another table. I can't remember being popular at school, lucky her.

Here is the boys' Tower Crane science project (double pulley system hanging on a lever with a counterweight at the other end). It spins around on a 'slew gear (the black part)'! The pulley can shift further from the centre post for lifting lighter loads.

TFSA's
L is home sick today with cough, low-grade fever, chills and of course this makes her asthma act up. So we're off to the doctor's in a little while to check her chest. She's a horrible patient, she seems to be on her last legs. At least she still has an appetite every now and then.
It's a cold, bright, sunny day. I think I'll bake some chicken legs for today's meal, with mixed vegetables on the side.
This year, the government introduced a new tax free savings account (TFSA) in which every person 18 and over can contribute $5,000 each year. I had sort of promised our insurance agent that we would open it with his company and we've sort of changed our minds and decided to just keep everything with our financial advisor. So now I have to return his call with the bad news. Sheesh. Not that we're ready to open anything with anyone just yet. That would take $10,000.

Life in general
I had an email from a dear old friend this morning to say that her older sister had passed away and was buried on the weekend. I'm sad because I remembered this lady and it's a reminder of the passage of time and the circle of life.
On a happier note, M and K are going to a Raptor's basketball game this afternoon. I haven't heard about any Superbowl parties tonight, usually M gets an invitation from someone. It sounds like Federer was trounced by Nadal in the Australian Tennis Open. L is not upset because she's a Nadal fan. But Federer was so upset he couldn't make his speech after, he broke down.
To give the boys due credit, they did a great job building their little crane for science (yesterday) with a minimum of instruction. Twisting wires, assembling the pulley, being careful with the hot glue gun, it was assembled in a jiffy. I think it was a positive experience for all. Maybe they even learned something!
L thinks that one of her pre-schoolers at swimming class is autistic, she says she can just tell by his lack of focus and certain key traits. I felt sorry for the mom, thinking it's going to be a hard road ahead. L says she is so attentive to the child too, a wonderful mom. She says there is another boy that is totally brilliant and always has an argument about some activity. He went into the middle of the baby pool yesterday and equated their arrangement to the Bermuda triangle! Some are quite happy to look for the little fish at the bottom of the pool, but this little boy explains why they're not real! For a bit of insight, we've learned that teachers do have their favourites, but their job is to treat everyone equally and not let it show! Isn't that just like life?
