Welcome to Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date! The theme is Bewitched this week. Here is my ACEO (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") in watercolour pencil with the stars in acrylic.
Grandson C started eating solids earlier this month having got the ok from the family doctor. He was able to sit up in the feeder chair and had good head control. It was a success!
Daughter L did some research and decided bone marrow was a great food to start with, full of nutrients and iron. She baked the bone marrow for 40 minutes then removing the marrow and juices, then she blended it is pictured. Grandson C loved it. My daughter is a foodie so he has been watching her eat and no doubt couldn't wait to get a turn! She has stored the marrow into food sized portions for about a month.
Daughter L then boiled the bones for 2 hours and ended up with homemade beef stock which she strained and stored.
I heard that liver is next.
Earlier this month our neighbour across the street knocked on our door one night. Their inside cat had gone missing and they were so worried. He must have been able to get outside somehow. The neighbour asked if he could check our back yard, so husband M took him there to no avail. The next morning he came to ask again if we had seen anything. I feel their pain although I am not a cat owner, it is like a family member. After about 20 years, we exchanged contact info. That must be a good thing.
They posted the missing cat Tako on the neighbourhood website, I posted his photo here.
In a bit of good news Taco was found about a week later in a neighbour's back yard. It had started to get colder so it was a happy day. The neighbours brought us this card and chocolates to thank us for our help. We didn't do much but it was nice of them.

Welcome to Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date's 'Fog' theme! Here is my piece inspired by photos of fog over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It is an ACEO (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") in acrylic and watercolour pencil.
For the Dinner Date, I made Angie's plum ketchup as I happened to have plums on hand that day. It is flavourful and tangy, I think it will be good on sandwiches, even burgers.
In fact, I spread the plum ketchup onto my grilled cheese sandwich and it was tangy, flavourful with a spicy kick.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Day! Hope you enjoyed your weekend.
Husband M's sisters continued their Alaska tour last month these are photos of Skagway:
