Inspiration
Our inspiration came from other successful engineers worldwide, such as YouTuber Kalle Hallden. The Fireship Youtube Channel also gave us lots of design inspiration.
What it does
This portfolio website allows users to learn more about the members of Boisterous Baboons, such as about each member's education, work experience, projects, skills, hobbies, and travel experiences.
How we built it
This website was built using HTML, Jinja, CSS, and Javascript on the front-end, and the back-end was built using Python and Flask. We also used the particles.js and leaflet.js frameworks to add some of the design features.
Challenges we ran into
- Learning Flask and Jinja with no members having experience with them
- Doing advanced CSS animations to make the website more lively ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating a visually pleasing design and respective themes for each member of Boisterous Baboons
- Implementing at least 1 fun and interesting CSS animation on every page
- Working effectively as a team ## What we learned
- How to make advanced CSS animations using CSS variables and with Javascript
- How to use Flask and Jinja2 to serve pages, create a dynamic website, and render HTML templates
- How to use Leaflet.js and particles.js ## What's next for Boisterous Baboons Team Portfolio
- Pushing CSS animations even more to make a more engaging site, like animating the waves
- Adding a new section to make the website more interactive, like a field to contact a member of the Boisterous Baboons
- Creating a 3-d visualization
