Inspiration
We aimed to tackle the problem with solutions that were suggested by credible sources, such as drawing and writing.
What it does
DeStress uses scientifically-proven methods such as a drawing pad and journal to allow teenagers to deal with stress that causes mental health issues.
How we built it
We built it using Swift in Xcode.
Challenges we ran into
We attempted to make an web app at first, but we had trouble with the GUI. We then tried an Android app that worked at first, but due to difficulties with integrating Intents and fragments together, we decided to go with a suite of iOS apps.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We switched to two different ideas from our original one, and we were successfully to create DeStress.
What we learned
We learned the importance of keeping our options open, and that no matter what challenges we face, there are always ways to overcome them.
What's next for DeStress
We are planning to integrate a few new functions: a selection of stress-relieving music, games, food recommendations for tensed teens, a sleep tracker, and some artificial intelligence integration with a quiz feature. Since this is a prototype, we also plan on fine-tuning existing features and making DeStress more aesthetically pleasing. We are considering creating Android and web versions of the suite of apps.
