Inspiration

For many people, bitcoin is still an unknown, heard only by its name, but never really explored in depth. These people are still curious about what bitcoin really is and what it can do for them. Trying to explain to these people in 30 seconds what bitcoin is is the challenge that inspired me. Also trying to use graphic art to communicate in a promotional video was an engaging challenge.

What it does

This is one of three videos designed for a strengthening promotional campaign. These videos are designed for the promotional campaign and use the same artistic style to strengthen their identity and continuity. The search for a distinctive graphic style for the video is intended as a way to leave a lasting impression on the public's memory. Using graphics and images, also with the support of generative AI, is a way to make communication work current and contemporary. But in the end all this serves to support the strong and systematic message of what bitcoin really is for people.

How we built it

Only open source programs were used to create the video. Openshot was used for the creation and composition of the video. Gimp was used for image editing. Inkscape was used to manage the graphics. Audacity was used for audio manipulation and correction. In addition, other widely available, open-use technologies were used. TTS speech synthesis of synthetic but natural voices from Microsoft was used. Bing's dall-e 3 generative AI system was used to generate images.

Challenges we ran into

Compressing the fundamental information that distinguishes bitcoin into 30 seconds was the real challenge. Manipulating digital images, from which to also extract animated videos, was complex but educational. Creating an engaging rhythm and a graphic imprint, to leave its mark in the memory, required a lot of attention.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In the end, the result of compressing the complex message contained in bitcoin into 30 seconds is hoped to have been achieved. The strengthening idea of creating three videos that share a supporting structure, but with distinct contents, also allowed us to improve the results for each video. The challenge of using graphics and artistic images to compose a promotional video is also a way to stand out from the rest.

What we learned

Starting from an initial video and then creating others to expand the initial content. Understanding that the same communication scheme could convey further content and insights. Use different tools in an integrated and coordinated way, creating a creative workflow without interruption of continuity. Continuous refinement and attention to detail has created greater engagement.
