Websites such as trading view and our motivation to make money passively

What it does

the program contains a user-implemented strategy that is used to make trades and back-test the market. the program displays the trades that the bot made, how much money you made or lost in each trade and the most profitable trades that were made during a certain time period.

How we built it

Utilizing visual studio code platform, python language, jupyter notebook, oanda fxtrade practice, postman, and API.

Challenges we ran into

Fixing complicated errors, utilizing GitHub repository properly, creating a virtual environment for our project, ensuring all of our files were in the correct directory, and finishing our project before the deadline.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to execute our complex idea in a short amount of time, working together as a team to solve issues, learning what jupyter notebooks was and how it could help us efficiently debug, connecting our demo brokers account to the bot as well as getting our bot to utilize the moving average crossover strategy which helps decide when to buy and sell.

What we learned

Learning how to utilize new platforms to help us invest in stocks in real life, learned new programming language for working with the Oanda API, how to use API to make auto-trading scripts, how to create virtual environments for a project, and how to work together as a team!

What's next for Forex Bot

Adding more indicators, having the forex bot decide which indicators to use depending on current market trends, and making it user friendly by developing a website.
