Traditional proofreaders offer valuable feedback, but they often lack the flexibility and immediacy required in dynamic work environments.

Local AI Proofreader Profiles was inspired by the need for a versatile, user-friendly tool that empowers individuals to customize and refine their writing in real-time. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the application aims to bridge the gap between automated grammar checkers and human proofreaders, offering personalized feedback that aligns with specific professional and creative objectives.

What it does

Think of it as Grammarly with personality! Choose your writing vibe (like Motivator or Tech Guru), tweak your sample texts, and watch our AI jazz up your words. Save your masterpieces, hit revert if you had a brain fart, or reset to defaults when you're feeling adventurous.

How we built it

With a potent mix of React for the frontend flair, TypeScript to keep things squeaky clean, and Ant Design for those snazzy UI components. We also cozy up with Chrome's storage.sync to make sure your settings travel with you—like a trusty sidekick.

Challenges we ran into

Oh, where to start? TypeScript was like that picky friend who hates when you don’t follow the rules. Unused imports and missing props had us chasing our tails. And getting our buttons to behave? Picture herding caffeinated cats. But hey, perseverance paid off!
