Inspiration
Many of us has faced mental health issues consciously or unconsciously, whether it be depression, anxiety, PTSD or others, as a student or in our teenage / developing years. In India, mental health is not given the slightest of importance it deserves. This leads to young population to take drastic steps as they feel that there is no way out. The intense pressure of competitive exams like JEE and NEET can worsen these issues, leaving many students unaware of their deteriorating mental well-being. Having navigated similar challenges, we deeply empathize with our peers and recognize the urgent need for accessible mental health support.
What it does
Our AI-powered personal chatbots provide students with a confidential and safe space to share their thoughts and emotions. Designed to complement counselors, these chatbots ensure 24/7 availability and foster mental well-being. Counselors receive weekly insights through shared forms, enabling them to monitor students’ emotional health effectively and more importantly these forms are AI generated meaning the next questionnaire would be based on the previous responses which would help keeping track of the mental health of a student. In critical situations or when alerts are triggered, counselors can promptly involve parents to provide necessary support. By combining advanced technology with human care, we create a proactive approach to mental health, empowering students and building a support system that truly makes a difference.
How we built it
we used gemini apis, supabase, nextjs, figma community, react, chatgpt, claude, stackoverflow, some youtube videos
Challenges we ran into
using Api s was very different for us as we found alot of errors in the permission grant for the vertex Api and also linking it with our front end was a challenge. We had difficulting in integrating our backend with our frontend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a qustionaire for the student. when the student answers the questions, the chatbot creates a follow-up set of questions and it tailored based on the response of the students.
What we learned
We learnt how to use apis and develop a chatbot. We learned how to make frontend using next js and how to link them. we got to know the ill effects of mental health and its secondary implications in much more detail.
What's next for QUAD: Your Silent Support System
Further development of the chatbot, train it better and make it more precise. Initial launch among a small group of students and test it and further improve it.
