Every year hundreds of thousands of refugees migrate to distant countries in hopes of a better life , for themselves and their children. Often migrants , upon reaching their destinations, are denied entry because of policies of the country. Even after entering the country migrants feel lost , being among a new people. Seeing the plight of the refugees, we decided to make R and R-Resources for Refugees.

Resources for Refugees collects data from refugees such as age, number of family members, citizenship status etc and automatically suggests a prospective country for the refugee. Almost all details such as who to contact, migrant policies for labor and education are listed on Resources for Refugees itself so the migrant never has to go anywhere else. Not only that, refugees can connect to other refugees already living in the prospective country , who can guide them further and even help them settle in their new lives.

We built it using VScode and Github.

We ran into challenges when trying to integrate the main site and the chat feature.

We made the site in 24 hours, which is something we didn't even think was possible.

Continuing our work on R and R, we would like to add more and more data sets so that the country matching results become even more accurate.
