Inspiration
By 2030, e-commerce home deliveries will double, and customers increasingly expect same-day service. Yet current logistics operate at 80% inefficiency. We simply won’t have enough drivers and vehicles. Laundry uniquely solves this: it's the largest service consumers willingly outsource, enabling efficient backhauls and optimized neighborhood rapid logistics. Additionally, major retailers' subscription services struggle against Amazon's integrated private fleet. Rapidual fills this competitive gap through dual-purpose logistics.
What it does
Rapidual seamlessly integrates 94 million daily laundry loads with the rapidly growing 34 million home deliveries. By combining these two essential services into unified, dual-purpose logistics routes, Rapidual significantly reduces delivery inefficiencies, maximizes driver utilization, and meets rising consumer expectations for same-day convenience. All while creating a sustainable competitive advantage against traditional delivery models.
How we built it
We built it primarily using Bolt, Figma, Stripe, Supabase, Oracle APEX, and other Oracle products
Challenges we ran into
Our main challenges involved optimizing dual-purpose logistics—balancing laundry pickups with retail deliveries required advanced routing algorithms and precise timing via AI. Integrating seamless payments with Stripe and maintaining real-time tracking accuracy lso demanded careful iteration to ensure scalability and ultimately reliability for customers.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully completed our first merged orders, combining laundry pickups with big-box retail deliveries. This validates that our dual-purpose logistics model works not just in theory, but in the real world. These early deployments demonstrated that we could coordinate two very different service flows within the same route, without sacrificing speed, quality, or customer satisfaction. We proved that drivers could handle both types of orders efficiently, customers appreciated the convenience, and retailers benefited from a faster, more cost-effective last-mile solution. This milestone marks a key step toward scaling a logistics network that’s smarter, leaner, and built for the future.
What we learned
The market demand has far exceeded our initial expectations. Customers are not only embracing our fast, affordable laundry service they’re also showing strong interest in bundling it with retail deliveries for added convenience. At the same time, large retailers have responded positively to our speed, flexibility, and ability to offer same-day or next-day delivery without the high costs typically associated with last-mile logistics.
Most importantly, drivers are a critical part of our value proposition. By combining laundry and retail delivery on the same route, drivers are able to complete more paid stops per trip, boosting their earnings without increasing hours or mileage. This model not only improves retention and satisfaction but also unlocks new efficiencies that benefit the entire ecosystem. Rapidual is proving to be a true win-win-win for consumers, retailers, and drivers.
What's next for Rapidual
We’re expanding into new neighborhoods to meet rising demand, while onboarding users from our growing waitlist. At the same time, we’re refining our routing algorithms, adding retail partners, and streamlining driver onboarding to ensure high-quality service. On the product side, we're enhancing the app with real-time tracking, flexible delivery windows, and subscription options to boost retention. Behind the scenes, we’re strengthening our logistics intelligence to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. We're building a smarter, dual-purpose logistics engine designed to reshape how goods and services move through neighborhoods.
