Short Summary

InvestBuddy, a banking integration helps students invest together. Create a circle with friends, set a shared goal, auto‑contribute small amounts, and watch your group’s money grow in live VR. Celebrate milestones, build streaks, and keep each other motivated, social, supportive, and stress‑free.

Components

We built a Next.js + React + TypeScript web app styled with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. Realtime updates via Supabase (Auth, Postgres, Realtime) reflect contributions instantly and power a progress view/leaderboard. For the wow factor, a live 3D scene (WebXR with a 2D fallback) visualizes the circle’s “money piles,” and we optionally generate celebratory 3D assets with Meshy AI.

Future Implementation

We plan to explore integrating this concept into RBC InvestEase as a student‑friendly, educational companion. All rewards and boosts in the demo are simulated; any real incentives would align with RBC policies. Next steps include deepening onboarding and invites, expanding education, polishing the WebXR experience, and packaging for a campus pilot (web first, optional desktop kiosk).
