🚀 Elevator Pitch

TapTalk is an AI-powered, tap-to-translate conversation tool that helps people communicate instantly across languages — and now extends into an enterprise experience that lets anyone understand a company, its products, and its team in seconds, in any language.

🧠 What It Does

Most translation tools translate exactly what you type.
But real conversations don’t work like that.

TapTalk makes conversations faster and more natural by:

Letting users tap prebuilt phrases by scenario
Generating smart follow-ups with AI
Enabling back-and-forth “ping-pong” conversations across languages

🏢 Enterprise Mode

TapTalk can ingest company data (websites, PDFs, docs, team info) and turn it into a multilingual, interactive experience where users can:

Understand what a company does
Explore products and services
Learn what makes them different
Discover who the team is
Ask questions in their own language and get real-time answers

Goal: Turn any company into an AI-powered, multilingual sales rep.

🛠️ How I Built It

Built using Claude Code + Pencil
Originally started in Cursor + Xcode, then pivoted mid-build
Integrated Google Translate API TinyFish.ai
Used Tiny Fish (AWS AI agent platform) for scraping company data
Experimented with Lovable early on

Fast, scrappy, and highly iterative build.

⚠️ Challenges

Couldn’t find a team → decided to solo build
Xcode errors slowed early progress with Cursor.
Ditched XCode/Cursor
Had to quickly learn Pencil + Claude Code w/ Simulators
Ran into conflicts between tools
Tight time constraints
It's my 1st time building iPhone apps! So, it was lots to learn!

🏆 Accomplishments

Built my first iPhone app ever
Did it completely solo
Integrated multiple AI tools into one product
Took it from idea → working prototype during the hackathon
Changed concept 4 hours before deadline to add enterprise functionality w/ TinyFish.ai!
