We are two U3 students who love video games since we were very little. So, for our first hackathon, we decided to make a game.

We are not experienced in making games at all, but this hackathon provided the best opportunity for us to jump in. We learned, and adapted.

The game is a simple 2D platformer where the player tries to find it’s way to the end while clearing the levels. We did most of the work in Unity 6 and C#. This is not what we had in mind when we started. We had more features we wanted to add, but this is what we were able to make with the time we had.

We added animations, a combat system, the ability to climb walls and a menu. We think the biggest challenge during this was the collision systems so that the game could know when the player is on the ground, or against a wall.

If we had more time we would have liked to add more levels to the game, start writing a story, create our own assets.

Originally the idea was to make a 2D platformer with some puzzles at the end to determine if an NPC is good or bad and either befriend them or fight them. So we would like to expand on that on the future
